2008 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 XS

This 2008 Land Rover Defender is a rugged go-anywhere 4x4, which has been fitted with a number of discerning modifications and is presented in very good order. Under the bonnet sits the 2.4-litre Ford Duratorq inline-four, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 66,726 miles from new.

First registered in March 2008, this Defender has been in the hands of its current keeper for six years. It has been fitted with various upgrades, including a full external roll cage, underbody protection and a suspension lift, alongside a winch, bumper, tow bar and snorkel. Other modifications include additional external lights, a set of side steps, a revised front grille, sunroof, fully carpeting, and updated alloy wheels, while the cabin features an aftermarket Momo steering wheel (with the original included in the sale).

The Defender’s iconic bodywork is all in good shape, and its black paintwork is believed to be entirely original. It presents with a few light stone chips around the front and rear end, while the vendor has reported a few small patches of bubbling. While always garaged, the car has been used as intended, largely for outdoor pursuits, and the condition of the underbody and chassis is well illustrated in the photo gallery below. The car’s updated 16-inch diamond-cut wheels have some scuffs and superficial damage around the wheel nuts, though could of course be refurbished in due course.

Inside, the seats are trimmed in a combination of leather and cloth, with black leather bolsters and fabric centre panels. The leather presents with some age-related creasing, though the fabric remains in excellent shape, with just a couple of marks. Minor nicks and scuffs are visible on some of the trims, commensurate with the age and mileage. In XS specification, it features air-conditioning, a heated windscreen and heated front seats, and no electrical faults have been detected.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in 2020, where the vendor’s in-house mechanic carried out a general service. The vendor reports that the car has also recently been fitted with a new steering box and battery, and it has been kept in very good order during their ownership.

The most recent MOT test was on 11 March 2021 at 66,664 miles, which resulted in a pass with four advisories to monitor perishing to all four tyres – and these would now benefit from being replaced based on age and condition, despite having plenty of tread.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original book pack and sales brochure, including the service booklet, which has been stamped accordingly up to 2015. Various maintenance invoices will also be provided.

This Land Rover Defender 110 XS is a hard-wearing 4x4, which has been fitted with a number of tasteful off-road focused modifications and kept in good mechanical condition by the vendor’s in-house mechanic.
