2008 BMW (E92) M3 - 31,709 MILES

This BMW (E92) M3 is a well-maintained example of the marque’s much-loved performance coupe, presented in very smart condition and with low mileage from new. Under the bonnet is the lauded S65 4.0-litre V8, which produces 414bhp at a lofty 8,300rpm and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer indicates a mere 31,709 miles from new.

First registered on 15 December 2008, this M3’s log book currently lists three prior registered keepers, and the car is now being offered for sale by the trade.

Finished in its factory hue of Silverstone Blue, the body is described by the seller as being in excellent condition, with no signs of accident damage and smooth, straight panels. The paintwork has an even, glossy appearance across the entire car and while there are some small blemishes – including a stone chip on the driver’s door, and a touched-in scratch on the lower passenger-side of the front bumper – these are very minor marks.

Further enhancing the M3’s aggressive appearance, the window trims and front grille are finished in gloss black and present very well, as do the light lenses, which are bright, clear and free of any chips or scratches. The rear spoiler has also been coated in a carbon-fibre effect wrap, which should be easy enough to remove should the next owner prefer the standard factory finish. This performance hero rides on the correct set of 19-inch ‘Style 220’ alloy wheels in gloss black.

In the cabin, the optional heated front seats present very well, with the only notable marks on their black leather coverings being the usual wear to the driver’s outer bolster. Given their excellent condition, the rear seats appear to have been used very infrequently and the majority of the interior trim is very smart, although there are some scuffs and nicks to the surface of the lower driver’s door card.

Factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, satellite navigation, climate control and three-stage heated front seats. It also has the desirable Electronic Damper Control (EDC), enabling adjustment of the suspension settings. The car’s original BMW Professional media system and CD player is still in place and all of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault.

Well-maintained and frequently serviced, this M3 was last tended to by BMW main dealer Barons of Hindhead, when it received an engine oil change, new oil filter and microfilter in June 2020 at 31,709 miles. Prior to this, its recent services were in September 2019 at 27,958 miles and in August 2018 at 21,453 miles.

In May 2020, BMW specialist Munich Legends also replaced the car’s throttle actuators, correcting a common E92 issue, as well as fitting new rear brake discs and pads.

This M3’s last MOT test was conducted on 12 December 2019 at 29,177 miles, where it achieved a first-time pass with advisories being issued for wear to the rear tyres, though the seller notes that they have since been replaced. The seller has stated that they will put a fresh 12-month MOT certificate on the car for next owner.

Today, the wheels are shod with matching Pirelli P Zero tyres, with the front items measuring 245/35 R19, while the rears are size 265/35 ZR19. All four are described by the vendor as being in very good condition and with more than 5mm of tread remaining. Accompanying the car are all of its original handbooks and stamped service book, plus a receipt for the throttle actuator replacement.

This E92-generation M3 is an exhilarating yet practical performance car, which can turn its hand to the morning commute just as readily as spirited weekend jaunts. Benefiting from replacement throttle actuators and presented in very good condition throughout, it is sure to delight its next owner with its incredible V8 engine and involving driving experience.
