2008 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE ROADSTER

This 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster is a smart example of the elegant open-top sports car, presented in an attractive factory colour scheme and benefiting from a very recent service. Under the sweeping bonnet is the 380bhp 4.3-litre V8, which drives the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays 40,931 miles from new.

First registered in April 2008, this Aston Martin was acquired by the seller nearly five years ago and has been routinely maintained by marque specialists throughout their tenure.

Overall, this V8 Vantage’s sleek bodywork presents very well. The seller notes that the car suffered from some panel damage in June 2019, and was fully repaired by Aston Martin specialist Trinity Engineering, who beat the passenger-side rear wing back into shape and replaced the passenger door, before repainting the affected areas. However, the car remains HPI clear.

Other than this repair, the blue metallic paintwork is believed to be original and is in good overall condition, with a few age-related blemishes including stone chips on the bonnet, minor bubbling on the top edge of the driver’s door and marks around the door locks. The door mirror arms are also slightly corroded and their black paintwork is flaking, which is a common Vantage issue. The car rides on its original 19-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, which are in great shape.

Moving inside, the cabin is upholstered in an attractive combination of blue and grey leather and presents very well. Both of the supportive electric and heated sports seats are very smart, with only some general wear and creasing to their outer bolsters and on the base of the driver’s seat. The seller states that the rear parking sensors are not functioning, but the rest of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work as they should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This Vantage’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in April 2021 at 40,839 by Aston Martin specialist Trinity Engineering, and consisted of a comprehensive inspection and a fluid and filter change. Prior to this, Trinity Engineering serviced the car in November 2018 at 38,062 miles, when they changed the fluids and filters, as well as replacing the passenger-side rear wheel bearing and the front brake flexi hoses. In September 2019, the owner also had Trinity Engineering investigate a misfire, which was traced to a faulty coil pack, and this was replaced along with all of the spark plugs.

The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 11 May 2020 at 40,066 miles, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres in size 235/40ZR19 to the front and 275/35ZR19 to the rear, which are in good condition and have a good amount of usable tread remaining. This V8 Vantage will be accompanied by its original stamped service book and invoices for its maintenance from 2017 onwards.
