2007 WESTFIELD SEi WIDEBODY

This Westfield SEi Widebody is an exciting lightweight sports car, which would be a great value weekend toy or an entry-level track day participant. It is powered by a Dell'Orto carburettor-fed Ford Pinto inline-four, bored out to 2050cc and producing around 135bhp, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.

First registered on 3 January 2007, this Westfield has just two previous keepers on the V5C log book. The vendor has owned the car for the last four years.

Originally built up as a kit car, hence the Q-plate registration, this Westfield’s bodywork remains in very good condition, with no known damage. Its paintwork is also in good condition, and is thought to be original. There is some slight bubbling on the offside windscreen pillar, and minor marks and chips elsewhere, but there is no heavy wear. It features carbon-effect cycle wings and rear wing guards, and all five alloy wheels - including the rear-mounted spare - are in great shape.

Inside, the comfort seats are trimmed in a combination of red and black leather, complementing the bodywork and exterior trims, and there is minimal visible wear. Both driver and passenger have four-point safety harnesses, and there is a leather-trimmed steering wheel in place. There is carpeting for the transmission tunnel and footwells, and the dashboard remains original and unmodified, though the rocker switches have faded slightly.

This car’s ride height was increased by one inch in February 2017 when acquired by the current owner. While there is documentation on file from Ford attesting to the age of the engine, and some receipts from the self-build process, there is no other service history on file.

The most recent MOT test was on 30 April 2016 at 11,192 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or defects reported. It will need a fresh certificate before driving on the road again. All four road wheels are fitted with Toyo Proxes tyres, which are date-coded to 2007 on the front axle and 2013 on the rear axle.

This Westfield SEi Widebody is a well-presented featherweight sports car, which is presented in evidently good cosmetic condition throughout. While there is little history, there are also no known faults. After a fresh service and MOT, this engaging driver’s car will be ready to take to the road again, and would be equally well suited to circuit work.
