KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This SL55 is finished in the timeless colour combination of Iridium Silver over a black leather interior, and is particularly well appointed.
• Original equipment includes air conditioning, satellite navigation, front and rear parking sensors, heated and electrically adjustable seats and cruise control.
• The car rides on a set of retrofitted 19-inch split-rim alloy wheels, which would ordinarily be fitted to the SL65 or the SL55 Performance Pack. All four feature metallic grey centres with polished rims.
• The car will be accompanied by its original service books and handbooks contained in their correct leather wallet, as well as receipts for its past maintenance, its full tool kit and original first aid kit.

CONDITION

• The Iridium Silver paintwork is believed to be entirely original and is in good overall condition, with some minor marks including stone chips on the bonnet, the front bumper and the boot lid.
• There is some corrosion appearing under the split rims on the front wheels, which is a common fault of these modular wheels. The seller has had a quote from Rader of Manchester to refurbish these at £110 per wheel, so this would be relatively inexpensive to rectify.
• The exterior trim and light lenses present well, and while there is a small stone chip on the bottom passenger-side corner of the windscreen this is only visible upon close inspection.
• Inside, the cabin is very smart indeed, with no significant wear on the black leather upholstery or the glossy carbon-fibre trim, and only very slight creasing on the seat bolsters, in line with the car’s use.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 23 April 2021 at 37,477 miles, resulting in a pass after one of the front windscreen wipers was replaced, with one advisory noting slight play in the nearside front lower suspension arm ball joint.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This SL55’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in May 2021 at 37,478 miles by Neil Rudd Autocare, who performed a general oil and filter service, as well as cleaning the front brake pipes and inspecting the underbody, steering and suspension components.
• Prior to this, the car was serviced in March 2019 at 35,884 miles by Mercedes-Benz specialist Auto Tech Carlisle, who also carried out an oil change service in March 2017 at 33,166 miles.
• During the seller’s ownership the rocker head covers have also been cleaned and their seals have been replaced.

SUMMARY

This Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is a fantastic example of the open-top performance car, which combines prodigious outright pace with all of the comfort and refinement you would expect from one of the marque’s roadsters. Well-maintained and offered for sale in excellent condition, this SL55 would make a fine addition to any collection of modern German performance heroes.
