2007 LOTUS EXIGE S - 9,611 MILES

This Lotus Exige S is a thrilling track-focused but road-legal featherweight performance car, with very low mileage. It is powered by the 1.8-litre supercharged inline-four, producing up to 218bhp, coupled to a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 9,611 miles.

The Exige S had a quoted weight of 933kg, and could sprint from 0-60mph in just 4.1 seconds, and 0-100mph in 9.98 seconds. This lightweight sports car was first registered in April 2007, and there are three previous registered keepers on the log book. It has been with the current owner for the last three years.

Its body and paintwork is described as being in excellent condition, having just been treated to a full respray. There is no evidence of prior damage to any of the body panels. The mesh grilles and other body trims are in good order, and the car rides on lightweight alloy wheels - 16-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear - that are finished in satin black. They have a few minor marks around the rims, but generally present very well.

The car retains the lightweight bucket seats, which are trimmed in a combination of black leather and synthetic suede. There is some minor wear and small scuffs on the seat bolsters, but the cabin is in good condition overall and is beautifully simple. Carbon-effect material clothes the transmission tunnel, door panels, and the gear shift gaither. There is a scratch visible on the passenger side cover, just ahead of the handbrake grip. All of the electrical functions work as they should, and there are no dashboard warning lights.

The last scheduled maintenance was carried out by the vendor, Blendini Motorsport in South Wales, at approximately 9,500 miles. This consisted of a standard engine oil and filter service, as well as a fresh set of spark plugs.

The most recent MOT test was on 20 May 2016 at 9,268 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. It has evidently not been used on the road since at least early 2017, and the vendor will put a fresh 12-month MOT certificate on the car ready for the next owner.

The wheels are fitted with Avon tyres at the front and Pirelli items at the rear, which have between 4mm and 6mm of tread remaining. The car is accompanied by the original handbook, service book, and some previous receipts for maintenance.

This Lotus Exige S is a very well-presented example of the hardcore Series 2 model. A thoroughly engaging track toy or fast road car, this lightweight coupe would be a fun addition to any assembly of modern classics. While it has very low mileage from new, it benefits from a recent service, and is now ready for many more miles in the hands of its next owner.
