2007 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL FLYING SPUR

This Bentley Continental Flying Spur is a handsomely specified and well-presented example of the British marque’s opulent luxury saloon. Under the bonnet is the 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12, which produces 552bhp and 479lb-ft of torque, and drives all four wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The odometer displays 59,319 miles from new.

First registered in March 2007, this Flying Spur is finished in the elegant hue of Midnight Emerald metallic over a two-tone tan and green leather interior, and is equipped with the Rear Seat Entertainment System, allowing the rear passengers to relax in comfort while viewing their favourite films on the screens set into the backs of the front headrests. Four-zone climate control, and heated and ventilated front and rear seats with massage function for all four occupants, makes this Bentley a truly luxurious example. There are just two previous keepers on the V5C, and its current owner acquired the car three years ago.

Today, this stylish modern Bentley’s bodywork remains in great shape, with flush, even shut lines and no dents to any of its panels. Appearing almost black with a pleasing green shimmer in direct light, the Midnight Emerald metallic paintwork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, with only a handful of minor marks, including stone chips on the door mirror caps and a small blemish on the rear bumper. Chrome trim strips run along the car’s flanks, and present very well, and the light lenses and glass are free of any chips or cracks. This Flying Spur rides on a set of 20-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, which have recently been refurbished, and remain in very good order.

On stepping into the cabin, you are met by swathes of rich tan leather, which covers the seats, the lower dashboard and the door cards, and is contrasted by dark green hide, which is applied to the upper dashboard, the central arm rest and the upper portions of the doors. Overall, the upholstery is in great shape, and while there is some minor creasing and discolouration of the leather – most notably on the driver’s seat – this is commensurate with the car’s age.

Already impressively luxuriously, this Bentley’s interior is further enhanced by the inclusion of finely crafted burr walnut veneers, which have been applied to the dashboard, centre console, door cappings, and the rear passengers’ fold-down picnic tables. All of the interior trim is in excellent condition, and is free of any cracks or signs of fading, and the deep green carpets which have been fitted throughout the cabin and boot present equally well.

Factory-fitted equipment includes an infotainment system with satellite navigation, climate control, electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front and rear massage seats, and an integrated DVD player with individual screens for the two rear passengers. The vendor reports that all of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Offered in excellent mechanical condition, this luxury cruiser’s most recent routine service was carried out by independent Bentley specialist Hanwells in August 2020 at 57,258 miles, when the engine oil and filter were changed. Prior to this, an oil service was performed in November 2019, when the air suspension control module was also replaced. Furthermore, during the seller’s ownership the starter motor and one of the suspension dampers have been replaced.

The car’s latest MOT test was conducted on 13 November 2020, resulting in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres in size 275/35 ZR20, which have plenty of usable tread remaining

This Flying Spur will be accompanied by its original book pack including its owner’s manual and stamped service book, plus two pairs of Alpine wireless headphones for the rear passengers, and an accompanying Alpine remote control for the integrated DVD player.

This Bentley Continental Flying Spur is an elegant and refined luxury saloon, which offers impressive performance as well as superb comfort for its occupants. Finished in a stylish factory colour scheme and benefitting from a recent service, this example is ready to enjoy immediately, and will add a sense of occasion to even the most mundane journeys.
