2007 AUDI RS4 CABRIOLET

This Audi RS4 is a powerful and sophisticated four-seater open-top performance car, boasting a number of desirable factory options. Under the bonnet lies a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 shared with the R8 sports car of the same era, producing 414bhp and 317lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, and the odometer reads 68,156 miles.

First registered on 2 March 2007, this RS4 has been in the hands of the current owner for the past four years and has had four owners from new. A UK-market example, it remains in original order throughout and has been comprehensively maintained to date.

Finished in Phantom Black metallic, the Audi’s imposing front end is free of marks save for a few stone chips present on the front bumper. There are few other blemishes to be seen, save for a scratch visible on the chin spoiler, which suggests this is a well-cared for example. The glass, model badging and door trims all remain in good order.

The electrically operated fabric soft top motors up and down without fault, and fits well over the frame. There are no rips or tears in the fabric, and no discolouration visible either. Riding on the factory-fitted 18in multi-spoke alloy wheels, these are in good condition with no kerbing damage.

Inside, the Audi’s stylish interior has stood the test of time well. It was specified from the factory with the sought-after ‘wingback’ bucket seats, which show light signs of use on both sides. Overall, the other main contact points such as the steering wheel, handbrake grip and gear knob are in very good order, in line with the relatively low mileage for its age. The dashboard and carbon-fibre inlays are in excellent condition. The vendor states that all electrics are in full working order and that no dashboard warning lights are illuminated.

This performance convertible was last serviced in June 2020 by Audi specialist QS Tuning of Haywards Heath. The engine oil and filter were replaced, along with the brake fluid, spark plugs, air filter and pollen filter. Prior to this, another recent service was carried out in December 2018.

In September 2017, more than £6,000 of work was carried out at QS Tuning. A new oil cooler and associated pipework was fitted, along with a new undertray, airbox valve, rear parking sensor and power steering cooler. The suspension was also upgraded with a full KW v1 coilover setup, while the sat-nav system was repaired, the headlamp washer pump replaced, and a wheel alignment carried out.

The most recent MOT test was on 24 February 2021 at 68,181 miles. This resulted in a first-time pass with zero advisories. Shod in matching Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, these have approximately 3mm of tread remaining on the front axle and 5mm on the rear.

This Audi RS4 is a superb example of the marque’s convertible ‘brute in a suit’. Offering a sonorous V8 allied to a demure appearance and a high-quality and well-equipped cabin, it would make for a reliable daily driver or entertaining summer steer, with a graceful design that continues to impress.
