2007 AUDI R8 V8 MANUAL - 20,929 MILES

This 2007 Audi R8 V8 is an excellent example of the German marque’s high-performance coupe, presented with low mileage and finished in elegant Daytona Grey Pearl Effect paintwork. Its 4.2-litre V8 engine produces 414bhp and is coupled to an engaging six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently indicates just 20,929 miles from new, supported by an Audi main dealer service history.

First registered in November 2007, this R8 has been with its current keeper for just over a year. While the log book shows two previous registered keepers, it is believed that the original owner sold the vehicle to its second keeper before even collecting it from the dealer.

The bodywork of this R8 is reported to be in great shape, and the car’s Daytona Grey Pearl Effect paintwork is in superb condition. Though the vendor has reported one stone chip to the bonnet in particular, the understated finish looks impressive. This R8 rides on 19-inch five-arm double-spoke alloy wheels, which remain free of scratches or scuffs. It is also equipped with an aftermarket Quicksilver exhaust, which the vendor says completes the car, giving it a muscle car character V8 burble at low revs and fully fledged supercar scream at the top end of the scale. However, the stock exhaust remains in the vendor’s possession, and is included in the sale.

In the cabin, the car’s red leather seats remain in excellent condition with only some minor wear to the driver’s bolster from entering and exiting the vehicle, and the vendor describes their condition as very good for a 13-year-old car. The rest of the cabin is finished in black, including the dashboard and door cards. The R8’s metal gear knob and open-gate shift present with one or two scratches, but otherwise remain in very smart condition. There have been no electrical issues reported and all interior controls work as they should, while the instrument panel is free of any warning lights.

This R8 has benefitted from regular main dealer servicing throughout its life, the last of which took place at Worcester Audi in June 2020, at 18,679 miles. The technicians undertook an engine oil and filter change, before replacing the vehicle’s brake fluid. Prior to this, in January 2020, the vehicle received an oil and filter change as well as a set of replacement spark plugs. A summary of the maintenance is included below.

The most recent MOT test was on 15 June 2020 at 18,679 miles, which resulted in a pass with advisories to monitor an insecure front registration plate, and reporting that the Quicksilver system was noisy. The vendor notes that a fresh set of Pirelli P Zero tyres have just been fitted and therefore have ample tread remaining.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original Audi handbooks and service book, providing evidence of the R8’s excellent history to date, as well as the original toolkit. As mentioned above, the stock exhaust is also included as a spare part should the next owner wish to put it back to standard specification.

This Audi R8 is one of the great all-rounders, with a compelling blend of exciting performance, usability, and reliability. With the involving manual gearbox and enhanced by the characterful Quicksilver exhaust, this is an engaging sports car that will undoubtedly always delight its driver. Presented in excellent condition, this would make a great addition to a collection of modern classics, but is of course best enjoyed out on the road, demonstrating its sublime handling and poise.
