2007 AUDI (B7) RS4 SALOON - BLACK EDITION

KEY FACTS

• An extremely rare run-out special edition version of the acclaimed high-performance saloon, presented in smart and largely original condition.
• Under the bonnet is the high-revving 4.2-litre aluminium V8, which produces 414bhp and drives all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• As with all Black Edition RS4s, this example is finished with Phantom Black paintwork, and is set apart by the Black Optics pack (comprising a black grille, window surrounds and exterior trim) combined with black exhaust tips, wingback bucket seats with colour-coded backs, gloss black dashboard and door card trims and black Alcantara sections on its steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever.
• Factory-fitted equipment includes heated front and rear seats, front and rear parking sensors (though one sensor needs replacing), satellite navigation, an electric sunroof, a cooled glovebox, adaptive headlights and rear door and window blinds.
• It rides on the correct set of 19-inch alloy wheels, which are in good shape, though the rear passenger-side item is scuffed and its finish is flaking, making it a good candidate for refurbishment.
• As the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) suspension system failed in 2019, the car was fitted with H&R dampers and springs, replacement upper and lower control arms and SuperPro polyurethane bushes.
• Inside, a digital receiver has been installed allowing the passenger to view Freeview TV, and a DrivePro dashcam has been fitted for added safety and security.
• The car will be accompanied by all of its original handbooks, its stamped service book and various invoices for its past maintenance.
• The car comes with the original RS4 sales brochure, which is a rare item sought after by enthusiasts.

CONDITION

• There is no known damage to the bodywork.
• It is not known whether the Phantom Black paintwork has been resprayed in the past, but it is in good overall condition, with a few minor marks and blemishes around the car, including various light stone chips on the front bumper, a small scratch on the driver’s-side door mirror cover, light scuffs on the rear bumper and a scratch on the boot lid. There is also some bubbling beside the roof channels on both sides of the car.
• Inside, the cabin is smart given the car’s age and mileage, with creasing on the upholstery and slight surface discolouration on the driver’s seat outer bolsters, which could be easily improved with a reconditioning treatment.
• The black Alcantara covering the steering wheel rim, gear knob and handbrake lever grip has become worn and matted with use.
• There are no known mechanical issues with the vehicle, though the seller states that the electric rear sunblind is somewhat temperamental.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 9 November 2020 at 100,739 miles, resulting in a first-time pass, with severe deterioration of the nearside front CV boot recorded as a minor defect, while advisories noted wear, pitting or scoring on one of the rear brake discs and slight damage to one of the front tyres, which has since been replaced.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This RS4’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in November 2018 at 84,633 miles by Alexander David Motors, who changed the engine oil, as well as the spark plugs and two of the coil packs.
• Prior to this, main dealer Cardiff Audi performed a major service in July 2016 at 75,159 miles, and a minor service in October 2015.
• During the seller’s ownership they have also replaced the original Dynamic Ride Control suspension components with H&R coilovers, fitted new upper and lower suspension arms, replaced the front brake discs and pads and changed all four tyres, as well as replacing one of the rear parking sensors and recently having the air conditioning system re-gassed.
