2007 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

This 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a wonderful example of an elegant, modern performance car, presented in a timeless factory colour combination and with comprehensive main dealer service history from new. Under the bonnet is a 4.3-litre V8, which sends 380bhp to the rear wheels via the desirable six-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays just 41,400 miles from new.

The first car to use Aston Martin’s second-generation VH chassis architecture, the V8 Vantage features lightweight materials throughout much of the structure and body, which rides on fully independent double wishbone suspension.

First registered on 5 March 2007, this Vantage has four previous registered keepers. It was acquired by its current owner two years ago and is now reluctantly offered for sale to help fund home renovations.

As handsome today as it was when the Vantage launched in 2005, the car’s bodywork is in excellent condition, with smooth, straight panels and even shut lines. The Onyx Black paintwork presents very well, with an impressive level of gloss across the entire body. On closer inspection, there are some minor blemishes to the finish, including minor corrosion beneath the passenger-side door mirror – a common Vantage issue – and small stone chips around the front grille and on the door mirror caps. There is also a minor scratch on the boot lid spoiler, which is only visible upon very close inspection.

The bright grille and window surrounds provide an attractive contrast to the dark paintwork, as do the non-standard enamel Union Jack badges which have been fitted to the front wings, however the seller states that these can be removed by the next owner should they wish. All of the exterior trim is in good shape, as are the rubber seals and the light lenses. The car is fitted with its original 19-inch seven-spoke wheels finished in Graphite Grey. All four remain very smart, with the only mark being a touched-in kerb scratch to the nearside front alloy.

In the cabin, this V8 Vantage is upholstered in full Obsidian Black leather with silver stitching. The heated and electrically adjustable seats are in very good order, and while there is some wear to the outer bolster of the driver’s seat, this is commensurate with the car’s age and mileage. Matching black leather covers the dashboard and the majority of the door cards, and is in great shape, as are the Obsidian Black carpets, Warm Charcoal seatbelts and the Tailors Grey headlining.

Elsewhere, the Piano Black trim covering the centre console remains smooth and glossy, and while there are some small chips on the door pulls and some marks surrounding the ignition barrel, these minor issues do not detract from the excellent overall condition of the interior. It is also noted that the stereo’s volume and disc selection buttons have been replaced with metal items, though the seller will also include the originals.

Factory-fitted equipment includes satellite navigation, Bluetooth phone integration, cruise control, a heated windscreen, heated folding door mirrors and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. Entertainment is provided by the infotainment system and six-disc CD changer, with enhanced sound being provided courtesy of a pair of 100-watt Focal door speakers, fitted during the seller’s ownership, though the original speakers will also be provided. All of the cabin’s buttons, switches and electrical items are described as working without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Serviced exclusively by Aston Martin main dealers from new, this V8 Vantage is in impressive mechanical condition. The most recent routine maintenance was carried out by Aston Martin Bristol in October 2020 at an indicated 41,321 miles, when the engine oil and oil filter were changed, along with the brake fluid, screen wash and two of the wheel nuts.

During the service and inspection, the dealer also stated that the clutch is in good health, providing additional reassurance for any potential buyer. It was also noted that the car’s headlight washers are faulty, which is common issue on the Aston Martin Vantage. Given that headlight washers are not legally required to work on cars registered prior to September 2009, and that the Vantage’s washers are poor even when functional, the owner decided not to have them replaced.

Prior to this, the car received its 12-year service in October 2019 at 36,740 miles, with Aston Martin Bristol again changing the oil filter, engine oil, brake fluid and screen wash. Its 11-year service was performed in November 2018 at 28,215 miles by Aston Martin Brentwood, who performed an oil and fluid change, as well as applying an Autoglym Life Shine paint protection treatment and replacing the window regulator, the boot lid’s gas struts, the sat-nav drive unit and the passenger-side wiper blade. The wiper arms were also resprayed and the tyre inflation bottle was replaced.

During the seller’s ownership a number of consumable items have also been changed. A new set of Brembo brake discs and Porterfield RS4 brake pads were fitted in October 2020. Before this, all four tyres were replaced in November 2019, the power steering fluid was changed in September 2019, and the gearbox fluid was replaced in August 2019. The passenger-side headlight unit was also replaced under Aston Martin’s ‘Timeless’ used car warranty in September 2019.

This V8 Vantage’s last MOT test was conducted on 23 October 2020 at 41,322 miles, where it secured a first-time pass without a single advisory. The wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, three of which were fitted in November 2019, while the offside rear item was replaced in October 2020. All four are in very good condition with ample tread remaining.

Accompanying the car are its original service book with 12 main dealer stamps and invoices for its last three services, as well as an Aston Martin ‘Timeless’ pre-owned multi-point inspection certificate dating to November 2018, an invoice for the car’s sale to its current owner, and its three keys.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is undoubtedly one of the most graceful performance cars of recent years and provides sublime comfort and driving thrills in equal measure. With low mileage and a full main dealer service history from new, this distinguished black-on-black example will make a handsome addition to any collection and is ready to be enjoyed by its next discerning owner.
