2007 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a handsome modern sports car, presented in a timeless colour combination and with main dealer and specialist service history from new. It is powered by a sonorous 4.3-litre V8 engine, which sends 380bhp to the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays just 44,855 miles from new.

Introduced in 2005 as a potential rival for sports cars such as the Porsche 911, the Aston Martin Vantage was the marque’s first car to use its second-generation bonded aluminium VH platform, as well as fully independent double wishbone suspension.

First registered on 16 January 2007, this well-specified example is finished in Tungsten Silver over an Obsidian Black leather interior. Optional extras include a bright finish front grille, power folding door mirrors, heated seats, xenon headlights, satellite navigation and a 700-watt premium audio system. There are five previous keepers on the log book, and the current owner has enjoyed the car for the past three years.

Today, the handsome Henrik Fisker-designed bodywork remains in excellent condition, with no signs of accident damage and with sound shut lines and even panel gaps. Its Tungsten Silver paintwork is described by the seller as being in great shape and exhibits only a handful of age-related marks, including a scuff on the offside lower front bumper from grounding out, minor stone chips on the front and rear wheel arches, a small blemish on the right-hand side of the rear number plate recess, and slight bubbling on the bottoms of the mirror stalks – a common Vantage issue.

All of the exterior trim presents very well, with the bright front grille retaining its original lustre, while the mesh on the front bumper, bonnet and body has been repainted to a high standard. The light lenses are clear and bright, with no chips, cracks or hazing. The car rides on the correct set of 19-inch seven spoke alloy wheels, which have been refurbished in the last 12 months and present superbly. All of the wheel nuts were also renewed in June 2020.

On stepping into the cabin you are met with swathes of full-grain Obsidian Black leather, which is smooth and largely unmarked throughout the interior. Accented by silver stitching, it covers the seats, dashboard, door cards and centre tunnel and has few signs of its age, with the most notable being some minor creasing to the outer bolster of the driver’s seat, though this hardly detracts from the interior’s overall very smart condition.

The perforated leather steering wheel is also in great shape, with no unsightly wear, which is also the case for the rest of the interior trim, save for some minor chips to the surface of the driver’s door pull. Factory-fitted features include heated electric seats with memory function, cruise control, satellite navigation, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a heated windscreen. The optional 700-watt premium audio system is also still fitted, and all of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault.

Reportedly pampered by its current and previous owners, this V8 Vantage has been serviced exclusively by Aston Martin main dealers and most recently by a respected specialist, with maintenance and repairs being carried out as and when required.

Its most recent routine maintenance was carried out by Aston Martin specialist AHM of Hampshire in July 2020 at 44,237 miles. A general service, this included replacement of the engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, brake fluid and wiper blades, as well as all of the wheel nuts.

Prior to this, it was tended to by Aston Martin Chichester in November 2018, when the engine oil, oil filter, brake fluid, coolant and pollen filters were replaced, and an anti-corrosion inspection was carried out. Aston Martin Chichester also carried out a service in October 2017, replacing the oil, oil filter, air filter and screen wash, as well as fitting new front track rod ends, boot dampers and bump stops.

Over the past 12 months, a number of other mechanical issues have also been remedied to ensure this V8 Vantage is in good running order. This has included replacement its brake hoses and pipes, brake discs and front and rear brake pads; recharging the air conditioning system; the fitment of new door latches to correct an intermittent central locking failure; replacement of the battery; a four-wheel alignment setup; and decommissioning of the car’s factory-fitted tracker due to a battery drain. The only remaining issue is a minor leak from the air-conditioning system, however the seller notes that it still seems to work as well as it ever has.

The car’s last annual MOT test was conducted on 5 November 2019 at 43,682 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with only one advisory for thin rear parking brake pads; however the seller has since had them inspected by a specialist who states that this is not an issue. All four wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which are in good condition and have approximately 50% of their tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is its original owner’s manual and full documentation of its service history, including bills of sale and parts invoices. A CTEK battery trickle charger will also be supplied, along with the original Aston Martin tailored indoor car cover.

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a refined sporting GT, which is well on its way to being considered a modern classic. A well cared-for and unmodified example, it is presented in superb overall condition and – thanks to its owners’ diligent approach to maintenance – is ready for its next owner to thoroughly enjoy on their favourite roads.
