2007 ASTON MARTIN DB9

A very presentable example of the elegant sporting grand tourer, this 2007 Aston Martin DB9 combines a tasteful, distinguished colour scheme with relatively low mileage – particularly for a car which wouldn’t be out of place making swift progress across continental Europe.

The first of Aston Martin’s models to be built at its modern Gaydon facility, the DB9 is powered by a refined 5.9-litre V12, producing 450bhp and 420lb ft of torque, driving the rear wheels in this case via a six-speed automatic transmission with ‘Touchtronic’ paddle shift.

First registered in March 2007, it shows 42,465 miles on the odometer, and has been enjoyed by its third owner for the past nine years, during which time it has covered 26,000 miles.

The DB9’s fluid curves and muscular haunches are unmistakable, and both the bodywork and Titanium Silver paint are described by the owner as being in good condition. The seller notes that there is some bubbling below the passenger door handle – shown in the media gallery – which is common of Astons of this era, and is straightforward to rectify. The driver’s door has also previously been replaced due to minor damage while parked. This was carried out to a high standard by Aston Martin Works Service.

The headlight lenses are bright and clear, with no signs of chips or hazing, and the car is equipped with rear parking sensors. This DB9 rides on 19-inch, silver diamond-turned optional alloy wheels, all of which are in excellent condition, with no signs of kerb damage or marring of any kind.

Moving to the interior, swathes of Caspian Blue leather coat the dashboard, door cards, centre console, and seats – which also feature optional perforated centres. This is complemented by dark blue carpeting throughout, with rich walnut veneers bringing an additional touch of luxury to the fascia trim and door caps.

The interior presents very well, with the only imperfections being some wear to the driver’s seat bolsters, two small marks on the silver hand grab of the driver’s door card, and minor fading to the wood trim surrounding the pop-up sat-nav screen. Cabin equipment in this comfortable and sophisticated GT includes dual-zone climate control, cruise control and electrically adjustable heated seats.

Mechanically, the car is in fine fettle, with no faults or issues noted by the seller. Serviced annually, with the last being in September 2019, it received all required maintenance by Aston Martin main dealers throughout its life, and particularly Aston Martin Works Service from September 2014 to September 2019. The most recent service at 42,002 miles also included replacement of the ignition coils and brake fluid.

The level of care shown by its past owners has also ensured that this DB9 has an excellent MOT history, with only a few minor faults that have since been rectified. Its most recent MOT test was conducted on 28 August 2019 at 42,007 miles, where it achieved a clean pass with no advisories.

Pirelli P Zero tyres, measuring 245/40 ZR19 on the front and 265/35 ZR19 to the rear, were fitted to the freshly refurbished wheels in September 2018, with very few miles covered since.

Accompanying the car is the original leather-bound Aston Martin document file, as well as an extensive history file including past MOT certificates and service receipts, plus the three original keys with two remotes.

A fine example of the marque’s typically graceful styling, and its dedication to hand-crafting elegant grand tourers, this Aston Martin DB9 represents a great opportunity to acquire a well-cared-for car.
