This Alfa Romeo 156 Selespeed is a handsome Italian saloon with remarkably low mileage and only two owners from new. Equipped with a 2.0-litre four cylinder petrol engine producing 163bhp, this 156 is fitted with the five-speed automated manual transmission. The odometer reads 27,879 miles.

An original UK-market car, it was first registered on 14 November 2007, and has one previous owner. The current vendor has owned the vehicle for over five years, where it has mainly been stored in a small private collection, though it has not been registered in his name.

Wearing the alluring shade of Blu Capri, the Alfa Romeo is believed to retain its original finish. This is reported to be in very good condition, with only minor scratches visible on the front bumper under the driver’s side headlight. The left-hand corner of the rear bumper has a scuff under the parking sensor, but otherwise the paint presents very well.

The Alfa Romeo badging on the body and wheels shows signs of age-related degradation, but the light lenses front and rear appear to be pristine. This attractive Italian saloon retains its original 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, which are in good condition, though the wheel bolts could benefit from replacement.

Inside, the Alfa Romeo is clothed in beige leather with silver dashboard inserts, combining comfort with quintessential Italian detailing. The seats are in exceptional condition, with only light creasing on the driver’s outer bolster. The dashboard trim and beige door cards are in very good order throughout.

The only signs of wear on the trim are on the driver’s door grab, with scratches visible in the black plastic. The carpets retain their original colouring with no fading or wear to the material. The vendor reports that there are no pre-existing electrical faults with the vehicle, and that all electrical accessories in the interior are currently working.

In their five years of ownership to date, the vendor states that the Alfa Romeo has only ever required regular maintenance, and reports that it has just been serviced.

The most recent MOT test was on 20 August 2020 at 27,812 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass. The only advisories are for both rear tyres, which are worn to only 2.5mm remaining. The car wears matching 215/45/R17 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on the front and rear.

Combining elegant styling and very low mileage, this Alfa Romeo 156 Selespeed is potentially the closest a buyer can get to an as-new example in 2020. Offered for sale at No Reserve, it would make for an affordable yet unusual daily driver, or is a strong candidate to be stored away in a collection of modern classics for years to come.

All UK-registered cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. This vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and has no finance owing.
