This 2006 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is a potent luxury flagship saloon, presented in outstanding condition throughout and with very low mileage. On opening the bonnet, you are met by the 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12, which produces 603bhp and a monumental 737lb-ft of torque – making the W221-generation S65 AMG the world’s most powerful production saloon at its launch. This drives the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission, allowing this imposing machine to sprint from 0-62mph in a mere 4.4 seconds, and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The odometer displays just 23,889 miles.

First registered in September 2006, this right-hand drive UK-market S65 was acquired by the seller seven years ago, and has completed two European driving tours in this time, performing faultlessly at every turn. When not in use, the car has been kept in a dry garage to protect its exterior from the elements. It was protected by a Mercedes-Benz warranty from new until 2020, helping to ensure it was kept in fine fettle.

As a result of its current and past keepers’ careful ownership, the car’s bodywork remains in excellent condition. Its original Flint Grey metallic paintwork is also in very good order, and has a smooth and glossy appearance around the whole car, marked only by a few very minor stone chips on the front bumper, in line with the vehicle’s road use. Furthermore, the bright exterior trim, including the front grille and badging is in great shape, and the light lenses are clear and free of any chips or cracks. This S65 rides on its original set of 19-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels, which are pristine.

On stepping into the cabin, you are met by swathes of luxurious Exclusive Passion Black leather, which presents very well indeed, particularly given this Mercedes’ age. As the S-Class was the marque’s flagship luxury car at the time, it should come as little surprise that all four of its seats are heated and electrically adjustable, and while there is some minor creasing on the driver’s seat’s bolsters this in no way detracts from the interior’s impressive overall condition. Adding an extra touch of elegance, glossy burr walnut trim is inlaid into the dashboard, door cards and steering wheel, and is in excellent order, with no scratches, chips or fading to its surfaces.

Factory-fitted equipment includes four-zone climate control, the heated and electrically adjustable seats with memory settings for the driver, a premium Harman/Kardon 600-watt digital surround-sound system, power rear-window sunshades, a heated steering wheel, night view assist, and front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera. All of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Its most recent service was carried out in August 2019 at 22,232 miles by Mercedes-Benz Newcastle, and included replacement of the air filter, brake fluid, coolant and spark plugs. Prior to this, Mercedes-Benz Newcastle performed an ‘A’ service in August 2017, changing the engine oil, oil filter and brake fluid. In August 2015, the car was serviced by Mercedes-Benz Solihull, where technicians replaced the engine oil, spark plugs, brake fluid, filter element and coolant.

The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 7 September 2020 at 23,880 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories. All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, with new items at the front and around 4mm of usable tread remaining at the rear.

This S65 will be accompanied by all of its original handbooks and documents, plus invoices detailing its past maintenance.
