2006 MERCEDES-BENZ E63 AMG SALOON

This 2006 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is a high-performance super saloon that perfectly embodies the ‘brute in a suit’ character. It is powered by a 507bhp 6.2-litre M156 V8 engine, which is driven through the rear wheels via the seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 86,731 miles from new, which is fully supported by the service and MOT history.

An original right-hand drive UK delivery example, this E63 was first registered in November 2006. The AMG styling features of this era were relatively subtle, with a deeper front bumper, discreet boot lid spoiler, and a bespoke rear bumper to house the quad exhaust tail pipes. It also has the AMG-tuned Airmatic air suspension. Bought by its current trade owner a few months ago, it is now offered to an enthusiast who wants to experience its blend of executive-class comfort and muscle-car performance.

The bodywork remains in excellent condition, and the Obsidian Black paint finish around the car is in superb order, with only a few stone chips and minor blemishes to be expected given its age and mileage. It sits on the original 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. There appears to be some marring of the lacquer on the wheel centres, but the outer rims are in great shape with no kerbing damage.

Inside, the original black Nappa leather presents very well indeed, with only small scuffs in the leather on the driver’s seat bolster. The rest of the leather upholstery simply shows typical wear from use. Its interior is accented by Bird's Eye Maple wood veneers, which are all in good order with no cracking in the finish.

The electrically-adjustable multi-contour front seats feature three-stage heating and memory settings. Cabin equipment also includes rear parking sensors, the COMAND infotainment system with satellite navigation and a CD changer, a television screen in the rear with dual headphone sockets, and four-zone climate control. The only notable wear to the interior trim or switchgear is some paint blemishes around the rear television screen holder.

At the back of the car, the boot area is clean and tidy, complete with a tailored rubber load liner. The original tools, fold-up warning triangle and the space-saver wheel also remain with the car.

Its last scheduled maintenance was carried out in March 2018 at 79,656 miles by independent Mercedes-Benz specialist Huxleys in Hampshire. Prior services were carried out at 74,331 miles and 58,898 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 7 November 2019 at 86,712 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. Its tyres are all recent and remain in good condition with plenty of tread. The wheels are fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx in size 245/40 ZR18 at the front and Continental SportContact 3 in size 265/35 R18 at the rear.

Accompanying the car is a certified copy of the service history from new, though unfortunately the original book pack has been misplaced. The workshop stamps on the history are all present and shown in the gallery below.

This Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is a collectable modern classic with seriously impressive performance. Equipped with the M156 V8, it boasts a terrific naturally-aspirated engine character, along with an operatic exhaust note. It has been used and enjoyed as intended, and should prove to be a great value purchase for its next owner.
