2006 JAGUAR XK 4.2 COUPE

This 2006 Jaguar XK 4.2 Coupe is a fantastic, one-owner example of the marque’s acclaimed contemporary GT car. With a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine up front, this big cat has impressive performance to match its refined looks, and has covered only 24,070 miles since new.

Owned by the vendor since new, this XK has reportedly benefitted from a true life of luxury. Always kept in a climate controlled garage while at home, this is a thoroughly original example and is in excellent overall condition.

Today, the Metallic Indigo Blue paintwork is in very good condition with a deep shine and metallic shimmer, reflecting its low mileage and considerate ownership. The vendor does note that the front and rear lights have some UV discolouration, which will require some cleaning and refurbishment, but this does not detract from the overall impressive condition of the car. The optional 19-inch ‘Carelia’ wheels look superb in contrast to the paintwork, and present in excellent condition with only very minor chips upon close inspection. Its brake callipers would benefit from repainting to bring them up to the same high standard as the bodywork.

The interior presents in wonderful condition, as you would expect from a car with such low mileage, even down to the original factory leather care instructions still being attached to the front passenger seat. Some very minor wear is noticeable on the bolsters of the driver’s seat, but otherwise the interior looks almost factory-fresh, with no damage or marks. Ordered with optional Ivory leather, remote garage opener, and a heated wood-accented steering wheel from the factory, this is a very well-appointed XK. All the switchgear and systems work as they should, with the exception of the garage door opener, which either requires replacement or re-programming.

Being owned by the vendor since new, there is a comprehensive service history with this vehicle, all of which was carried out by the supplying dealer, Stratstone Jaguar of Cardiff. The last major service was the 11-year service in April 2017 at 23,314 miles, during which the oil, oil filter and pollen filter were changed. Previous recent services were carried out in 2015 and 2014, at 21,103 miles and 19,292 miles respectively. A full summary of the service history can be found below.

This XK has needed little more than routine maintenance throughout its life, with the only notable expenditure being the replacement of the infotainment unit during 2020 at a cost of around £2,500. Accompanying the car is a detailed history file, stamped service book, original order form and original Jaguar XK brochure and DVD, along with the V5C.

The last MOT test was carried out during January 2021, resulting in a clean pass with no advisories. Four new Dunlop tyres have been fitted to the car, and have travelled only 200 miles since being fitted. Other than the issue with the remote garage opener, there are no reported faults or defects with the vehicle, including a clean bill of health for the optional CATS system.

It is not often that a car with such low-mileage and single-owner history becomes available, not to mention one serviced exclusively at the same main dealer from new. The XK Coupe makes a fantastic long-distance grand tourer, with a refined and comfortable interior; and with the powerful 4.2-litre V8 under the bonnet, it is also a joy to drive.
