2006 JAGUAR XJR PORTFOLIO - 1 OF 100

This Jaguar XJR is a superb example of the model’s zenith; the Portfolio edition, of which only 100 were manufactured. Under the bonnet is a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 producing 400bhp, controlled by a six-speed automatic gearbox. The odometer shows 80,400 miles from new.

First registered on 24 October 2006, this British super saloon has three previous registered keepers on the log book, with the fourth private owner keeping it for the last three years. This Jaguar is now offered for sale by the trade.

The Portfolio edition was a limited-production version of the X350-generation XJR. Unique to the model were a raft of cosmetic tweaks including polished wheels, larger diameter exhaust tips, chromed side power vents, an aluminium J-gate gear lever surround, and a chrome and leather gear knob.

This XJR’s alluring Midnight Black paintwork is in excellent condition throughout, with no dents or questionable shut lines. The seller reports that there are minor stone chips to the front of the car, as well as a handful of light scratches on the boot lid, which may polish out.

All body trims present well, with no corrosion or discolouration on the bumper bright-work, the mesh front grille, or the chrome-capped mirrors. The light lenses are also free from stone chipping or other imperfections; a testament to careful treatment by previous owners. The elegant five-spoke alloy wheels were refurbished in February this year and remain in superb order, though two of the centre caps display very minor degradation.

Specified in Ivory leather from the factory, this Jaguar’s cabin is a smart combination of luxury with a sporting edge. The seats are in excellent condition, with no rips or tears, and the dashboard and door panel trims are in good order. The seller notes that headliner has become slightly unstuck in one corner, though this is not easy to spot.

The steering wheel, gearstick and handbrake are free of scratches or marks, and the HVAC control buttons are also in a condition which belies the age of the vehicle. The vendor reports that this car is an on-the-button example, with no switchgear or electrical faults.

As befitting a car in such strong cosmetic condition, this XJR also has a comprehensive service history, which follows in full at the end of this advert. Its most recent maintenance was at marque specialist PRP Vehicle Services in January 2020 at 79,794 miles. This included a replacement ride height sensor and suspension recalibration, and renewal of the engine oil and filter.

During 2020, the XJR has also benefited from replacement of the gearbox oil and filter, and new front brake discs and pads. Prior to this, the car has enjoyed regular servicing, with comprehensive invoices for routine maintenance included in the history.

The Jaguar was last put through an MOT test on 14 November 2019 at 77,510 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories. It rides on Michelin tyres all round, and the vendor reports that the front set of tyres have approximately 6mm of tread, while the rears have covered less than 200 miles since being fitted in February.

This characterful executive cruiser will reach its next owner with its full complement of original handbooks, stamped service history, a folder of invoices and two keys. The original Jaguar-branded luggage strap and space-saver spare wheel in the boot compartment are also included. Finally, the cherished registration ‘OO03 XJR’ is also part of the sale.
