This 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider is a thrilling open-top supercar, with exceptionally-low mileage from new and a highly desirable specification. The engine’s 483bhp is transmitted through Ferrari’s paddle-shift F1 gearbox, and the car is equipped with the factory exhaust.
Presented in Rosso Corsa with Crema hide, it also benefits from the sought-after ‘Daytona’ seats, carbon-ceramic brake discs and carbon-fibre interior trim. The F430 Spider allows its owner to experience the full sonorous howl of Ferrari’s naturally-aspirated 4.3-litre V8 engine, and this particular car is a wonderful example of the model.
The rundown of factory-fitted options includes:
- Daytona seats with electric adjustment
- Rosso piping and stitching
- Carbon-fibre interior pack
- Upgraded sound system
- Yellow rev counter
- Scuderia wing shields
- Rear parking sensors
- Carbon-ceramic brakes
- Yellow brake calipers
Delivered new to the UK in December 2006, the Spider has just three previous owners. Each of them drove the car sparingly, and it has never sat completely unused for a long period of time. Now showing just 3,349 miles from new, it remains a totally original car in very good condition.
The Rosso Corsa paint is the original factory finish and is in generally excellent condition. Having been used spiritedly on the road, there are some stone chips around the nose of the car, including the black finish on the air intakes. A minor scratch at the trailing end of the bonnet was caused by contact between the windscreen wiper and the paintwork.
The alloy wheels are in generally superb condition, though some minor kerb damage to the edge of the front passenger-side rim is evident in the photos below. The finish of the yellow brake calipers is excellent. As you could expect given the mileage, the engine bay is also in pristine condition. There is no damage to the black fabric roof, which still has a deep colour with little sign of wear.
Inside, the Crema leather upholstery is in very good order, with a small mark on the driver’s seat bolster being the only note from the vendor. The car is equipped with electrically-adjustable and heated seats, and there is no damage to the red seat piping or the ‘Daytona’ seat panels.
The burgundy carpets show little sign of any wear. Carbon-fibre trim elements on the dashboard and centre console are complemented by the yellow rev counter. The original Ferrari Maglite torch is still present in the glovebox.
The car has been well-maintained by all of its previous keepers. It has been worked on exclusively by H.R. Owen in London, with stamped services at 758 miles, 1,269 miles, 2,266 miles, 2,614 miles, 2,995 miles, 3,089 miles and 3,182 miles.
The last service was in December 2017 at Ferrari London, and the car has driven less than 200 miles since then. Being a chain-driven engine, there is no camshaft timing belt renewal to worry about with the F430’s V8. It is still equipped with the original factory-fitted exhaust.
The car was specified new with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 run-flat tyres, which it still wears today. The vendor reports a good level of tread remaining, with no cracking on the tyre walls. A fresh MOT test carried out in January 2019 resulted in a clean pass with no advisories.
Accompanying the car is the original stamped service book and owner’s manual, the Ferrari battery charger and the original toolkit. This F430 Spider F1 is a superb example of one of Ferrari’s most useable open-top cars. It is equally well-suited to a collector looking for a very low mileage example, as to an enthusiast whose priority is a superb car that is ready to use and enjoy.
