2006 FERRARI F430 SPIDER F1

This 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider F1 is a superb, low mileage example of the breed finished in lesser-seen black with a cream interior. Its engine is a rear mid-mounted 4.3-litre V8 producing 483bhp, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed ‘F1’ automated manual with paddle shifters, and an electronic limited-slip differential. This example has covered just 9,831 miles from new.

Launched in 2004 as a successor to the Ferrari 360, the F430 introduced substantial design and performance changes – including significant improvements to the F1 transmission. Launched to rave reviews, the F430 is now remembered as one of most well-rounded of the naturally aspirated V8 models. The exhaust crackle when you fire up the engine is electrifying, and the F430 Spider was voted 2005 Supercar of the Year by Top Gear.

First registered on 1 January 2006 and supplied by Maranello Sevenoaks, this UK market F430 has had only two previous registered keepers. The vendor has owned the car for 18 months, in which time only around 450 miles have been covered. It is presented in wonderful condition and has evidently been cherished throughout its life, with the seller being an active member of the Ferrari Owners Club. The car is certainly among the lowest mileage examples in the UK.

The black paintwork makes a refreshing change from the more common hues, accented by the Scuderia wing shields, and as the photos show it presents excellently. The vendor reports no defects or previous paint repairs, and details such as badges, rubbers and lights present very well indeed. The original 19-inch ‘five twin spoke’ wheels are also in superb condition, with yellow calipers over the standard brakes adding a flash of colour to the exterior.

Moving inside, the full Crema leather interior pairs perfectly with the dark exterior and is in absolutely superb order – testament to the car’s low mileage. The seats undamaged, showing minimal wear, as is the rest of the leather trim around the door cards, dashboard, and steering wheel. The aluminium interior trim is also in excellent condition, as is the rest of the switchgear. This F430 also benefits from an upgraded Hi-Fi and iPod connectivity from a cable within the glovebox.

The engine bay is in excellent condition, with the iconic red cam covers sitting unmarked in a clean bay. Even the original exhaust back box still has a bright and polished appearance. There are no issues with the electric folding soft top, which works perfectly and fits snugly.

The car has a very detailed service history given the low mileage, with the most recent service carried out by Graypaul Nottingham in January 2019 at 9,378 miles (only 453 miles ago). The car also had a new battery and fresh spark plugs fitted at marque specialist Shiltech in May 2019. Prior to this, its previous major service in September 2015 at 8,681 miles, was carried out at Joe Macari, with both exhaust manifolds replaced at this time.

The car was MOT tested on 3 June 2020 at 9,813 miles, and received an advisory for slight play in the nearside front ball joint. This was immediately replaced, and on 5 June the car was retested at 9,823 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The car is wearing Bridgestone Potenza tyres all round, which are reported to have good tread levels.

The car is in completely original condition and is sold with all factory equipment including service book, handbooks, complete tool kit, two keys and even retains its Ferrari torch. This Ferrari F430 Spider F1 is a diligently cared-for and low-mileage example, which would be a credit to any marque-specific collection, but is a superb open-top supercar for any enthusiast to enjoy in the warm summer months.
