2006 BMW Z4 M ROADSTER

This BMW Z4 M Roadster is an exciting and engaging performance sports car, presented in great condition and with a solid main dealer and specialist service history. Under the bonnet is the S54 3.2-litre straight-six engine, producing 338bhp and 262lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer shows 58,159 miles from new.

As with all ‘M’ versions, the Z4 M Roadster is a harder-edged variant of the standard Z4, and as well as its larger, more powerful engine, it benefits from sharper steering, revised suspension and wider wheels, providing ample grip to match its increased power output.

First registered on 10 August 2006, this original UK right-hand drive example was acquired by its current owner approximately 18 months ago, for the express purpose of being used for a summer road trip around Ireland last year. Since then, it has been used sparingly and kept carefully stored when not in use, especially over the winter months.

Aging gracefully, the sharp, sculpted bodywork is in excellent condition, with no reported accident damage and crisp, even shut lines. The deep Interlagos Blue paintwork also presents very well, and is smooth and even across the entire body. There are only a handful of visible blemishes present, including some small stone chips on the front bumper and scratches on the lower nearside of the front splitter. It has recently received a ceramic coating treatment, so is now well protected.

The black fabric soft top looks very smart, and is free of any rips, tears or scuffs. A waterproofing treatment was also applied when the body was ceramic-coated. The electrically-operated mechanism works perfectly, and the hood fits snugly over the frame. Elsewhere, the trim and rubber seals are all in great shape, and while there is some very slight hazing on the headlight lenses, these should be straightforward to polish back to a clean finish. The car rides on its original silver 18-inch twin five-spoke alloys, which have only a minor graze on the edge of the nearside front wheel.

Looking to the interior, the deeply bolstered heated sport seats are clad in black leather, and there is carbon-fibre effect leather trim on the dashboard and centre console. Presenting very well throughout, the upholstery has only modest wear, in line with the car’s mileage. The seller notes a broken spring in the driver’s cup holder.

To enhance the cabin entertainment, the seller has had an Alpine stereo head unit fitted with Bluetooth connectivity. For days when the open top doesn’t provide sufficiently icy cooling, automatic air-conditioning is included as standard, and the system was re-gassed earlier this year. All of the interior switchgear and electrical items are described as working without fault.

This Z4 M received its last oil service in February 2018 at 53,178 miles, carried out by Quinn and Son Automotive in Surrey. Prior to this, its most recent maintenance visits were an oil service in September 2016 at 44,686 miles, and an Inspection II service in March 2016 at 36,598 miles. In August 2019, when the air-conditioning was recharged at Dick Lovett Bristol, the car was also given a vehicle health check at 56,708 miles – which is shown in the photo gallery.

The car’s last annual MOT test was conducted on 23 July 2020 at 58,159 miles, where it secured a first-time pass, with only one advisory note for play in the offside front inner joint of the steering rack – and the seller will have this attended to before handing over to the next owner. Its wheels are fitted with Maxxis tyres, and all four are described as being in good condition, with at least 6mm of tread remaining all round.

Accompanying the car are its original leather BMW wallet, which contains the car’s manual and handbooks, stamped service book and receipts. The car’s two keys and the complete, original tool kit are also present.

This BMW Z4 M Roadster is an exhilarating open-top performance car, presented in unmodified and original condition, and in a vibrant factory colour. It is in very good cosmetic and mechanical order throughout, and is ready to take to your favourite B-roads to enjoy the rest of the summer months.
