2006 AUDI (B7) RS4 AVANT

This Audi (B7) RS4 Avant is a superb example of the marque’s coveted performance estate, which has been enjoyed as intended but presents in excellent condition. Under the bonnet sits the 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 414bhp, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. The odometer currently indicates 100,120 miles from new.

First registered in October 2006, this performance hero has been in the hands of its current keeper for six months. It is fitted with the desirable Black Optics package and remains highly original, though the factory-fitted DRC suspension setup was replaced with Bilstein coil-overs in 2017.

The bodywork of this estate is all in good shape, presenting with flush shut lines and no suggestion of any accident damage; and with the vendor noting only a small dent in the driver’s door from a shopping trolley. The condition of its Phantom Black paintwork has been described as excellent, though the vendor has pointed out a few minor blemishes, including some light age-related stone chips on the front bumper, wheel arches, roof and silver wing mirror caps. There are also some small scratches surrounding the boot entry, but the finish retains a glossy shine throughout. The car rides on a set of seven-arm twin-spoke alloy wheels, which are in superb condition.

Inside, the black leather trim has just some age-related creasing and some very light wear to the driver’s bolsters, though the vendor reports none of the upholstery is torn or scuffed. The cabin is equipped with heated seats, satellite navigation, and front and rear parking sensors – though one of the front sensors requires replacement. Optional extras include carbon fibre trim, a CD multi-changer, TV tuner, Bluetooth connectivity and a glovebox fridge, while the vendor notes the floor mats have been replaced with red-accented alternatives.

In February 2021, the car underwent a complete health check, and technicians at West Automotive replaced the starter motor, nearside rear inner CV joint, and front brake discs and pads. The engine compression was also checked. Its exhaust valve flaps were found to be stuck in the open position, said to be a common issue, but West Automotive checked the vacuum control system and it still works as it should.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in August 2020 at 97,302 miles, where technicians at DJ Howlett Motor Engineers in Stowmarket carried out an oil change and inspection service. Prior to this, in May 2018 at 88,193 miles, and in February 2016 at 80,448 miles, technicians at AM Cars carried out similar routine maintenance.

The most recent MOT test was on 5 August 2020 at 97,041 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The Continental tyres were fitted in August 2020 and are reported to have covered less than 2,000 miles.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original handbooks, stamped service book and bill of sale, along with a raft of maintenance invoices, the full toolkit and an air compressor. Also supplied is a bespoke outdoor car cover and the original floor mats.
