2005 TVR SAGARIS

This 2005 TVR Sagaris is an excellent example of the thrilling and characterful British sports car, presented in an eye-catching factory hue and with low mileage from new. Under the bonnet is the powerful 4.0-litre TVR Speed Six engine, which produces around 406bhp and drives the rear wheels via an engaging five-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays just 26,148 miles.

First registered on 5 May 2005, this Sagaris was specified with vibrant yellow paintwork over a black leather interior, and also features air-conditioning and body-coloured seat backs. There are four previous keepers on the V5C.

Today, the car’s striking bodywork is in great shape, with flush, even panel gaps and no evidence of any prior accident damage. The yellow paintwork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, with only a few very light stone chips to the lower nose, which are only visible upon close inspection. All of the trim is also in good order, and the light lenses are free of any chips or cracks – though one of the sidelight bulbs is not functioning and needs to be replaced.

While the car is almost entirely original, its exterior has been slightly enhanced by the addition of white rear reflectors in place of its original red items, and a pair of carbon-fibre exhaust silencers. It rides on a set of 19-inch Powers Performance five-spoke alloy wheels, which are finished in gloss black and are unmarked.

Inside, the cabin is clad in black leather with yellow contrast stitching and matching carpets, and is in superb order for the car’s age. Both of the seats feature smooth leather bolsters with perforated centres, and show few signs of wear, with only minor creasing to the driver’s seat’s upholstery in line with its use. Ahead, the steering wheel is also wrapped in black leather and presents very well, and the dashboard is free of any rips, tears or scuffs. While the car’s sonorous naturally aspirated straight-six should provide ample entertainment, the cabin is also fitted with a Pioneer radio/CD player. All of the switchgear works as it should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This Sagaris’ most recent routine maintenance was carried out at approximately 25,750 miles by specialist TVR Power/Powers Performance, who changed the engine oil, filter and spark plugs. Prior to this, TVR Power performed a general service in September 2017 at 25,632 miles, when the car was inspected and its engine oil and oil filter were changed. Further to the modifications mentioned above, it has also been made more secure with the addition of an aftermarket immobiliser system. A new clutch has also recently been fitted.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 12 February 2021 at 25,900 miles, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are fitted with Avon ZZ3 tyres, which are in excellent condition and are less than one year old, with around 5mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying this TVR are its owner’s handbook, past MOT test certificates, and various invoices detailing its past specialist maintenance and care.

As thrill to drive as it is to look at, this TVR Sagaris is a glorious analogue sports car. Having covered a little over 26,000 miles from new and maintained exclusively by marque specialists, it is offered for sale in excellent mechanical order, and is sure to turn heads at every opportunity thanks to its arresting colour and thunderous 4.0-litre straight-six.
