2005 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION IX GT

KEY FACTS

• A rare lightened variant of the popular rally-bred performance car, with a significant powertrain upgrade.
• Under the bonnet is the 2.0-litre turbocharged ‘4G63’ inline-four, which has been modified to produce 530bhp and 500lb-ft of torque. This drives all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

CONDITION

• Featuring all of its original panels, the bodywork is in great shape. While the seller notes that the driver’s door was previously backed into, this has since been repaired.
• Having been fully resprayed in January 2020 by Paint Tec, the red finish is very smart, though there is a minor bubble on one of the wheel arches.
• The underbody has recently been fully refreshed, including the removal of all surface corrosion and the application of an anti-rust agent and a protective coating.
• All four wheels present reasonably well, however there are kerb marks on the rear passenger-side item and all four have slight pitting, so would benefit from refurbishment.
• Inside, the cabin is in very good condition, with only a small amount of wear on the driver’s seat, in line with the car’s age and mileage.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• Two brand new Yokohama AD08R tyres were fitted in April 2021 to replace two which were worn.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 10 May 2021 at 71,445 miles, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This Evo’s most recent routine maintenance was a full service and head refresh, which was carried out in April 2021 at 71,445 miles by Japanese performance car specialist Autotorque. This included de-coking of the valves, replacement of the head studs and head gasket, and the fitment of a new kevlar cam timing belt and balance belt.
• Prior to this, Autotorque serviced the car in January 2020 and January 2019.
• The vendor also notes that the cam belt was replaced in March 2021 and the front suspension dampers have recently been changed.
