This Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is an impressive example of the modern classic super saloon, presented in excellent mechanical condition and with very low mileage from new. Under the bonnet is the ‘M113’ supercharged 5.4-litre V8, which produces 469bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The odometer displays just 25,128 miles.

First registered in June 2005, this right-hand drive Japanese-market E55 AMG was auctioned as a grade 4.5A car – a mark which is reserved for vehicles in very good condition. It was then imported into the UK in 2018 and re-registered in May of the same year to a member of the trade. It is now offered for sale direct from secure storage to its first private UK owner.

Finished in Alabaster White, this E55’s bodywork is in fantastic condition, with no evidence of any prior accident damage and straight, undamaged panels. The paintwork is also said t be pristine, with none of the scuffs or scratches that you might expect on an E-Class of this age. Furthermore, the light lenses are clear and free of any cracks, and the exterior trim and badges also present very well. The car rides on the correct set of 18-inch five-arm twin-spoke alloy wheels, which are unmarked.

Moving inside, the cabin is trimmed in black leather, and is in excellent condition throughout. Featuring perforated centre sections and accented by white stitching, the multi-contour sports seats are in great shape, with only the slightest creasing to the driver’s outer bolster in line with the car’s low mileage. The door cards are also very smart, while the wood veneer inlays which also appear on the dashboard and centre console are free of any blemishes.

Bringing this modern classic into the present day is an updated UK-specification Android 9.0 COMAND infotainment system, which provides satellite navigation and DAB radio, while additional apps such as Google Maps can be downloaded via Wi-Fi. Factory-fitted equipment includes heated and ventilated front seats with memory settings, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. All of the car’s electrical items work as they should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Described by the vendor as providing a tight, direct driving experience and with no underbody corrosion to speak of, this E55 is said to be in fantastic mechanical order. Its last service was carried out in October 2020 by JT UK, and consisted of an engine oil and filter change, new air and pollen filters, as well as a general health check. Prior to this, oil services were carried out at 23,809 miles and 22,547 miles, and no further maintenance has been required during the current keeper’s ownership.

The car’s most recent MOT test was conducted on 7 September 2019 at 25,029 miles, which resulted in a clean first-time pass, and the vendor will have it retested prior to handover to its next keeper. All four wheels are fitted with Continental tyres, with the front items having 65% of their original usable tread remaining, while the rears are brand new.
