2005 MERCEDES-BENZ E55 AMG KOMPRESSOR ESTATE

This Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is a rapid but practical performance car, presented in good order throughout. Under the bonnet sits a 5.4-litre supercharged V8, now producing 513bhp and 685lb-ft of torque, coupled to a five-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer currently indicates 98,537 km (61,228 miles).

A 2005 model year car originally delivered to Abu Dhabi, this usable left-hand drive performance estate has been with its current keeper for around 18 months. It is said to have been imported to the UK from Japan and re-registered in September 2019.

The bodywork of this estate is in good order, and there are no obvious signs of any prior damage. The white paintwork is described as generally excellent, remaining original and presenting with minimal wear and tear, with one or two minor stone chips on the front end, and small blemishes elsewhere commensurate with the age and mileage. There is aftermarket badging that has some discolouration and surface corrosion on the front badge (not on the body), though the other body trims, window glass and light lenses appear to be in good order. The vehicle rides on a set of 18-inch five-arm twin-spoke alloy wheels, which have only a few kerbing grazes.

Inside, the black leather upholstery covering the seats looks superb, with just some age-related creasing on the bolsters and the perforated centre panels. The leather-clad door cards are in good shape, while the wood veneer inlays which accent the dashboard appear to be free of any blemishes. The car is equipped with heated and ventilated front multi-contour sport seats with memory settings, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, an electric glass sunroof, and the COMAND infotainment system. All of the switchgear and electrics are reported to be in good working order.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in February 2021 at 61,216 miles, where technicians at Superspeed Garage in Slough fitted new brake discs and pads all round. Prior to this, in August 2020, the car was given fresh engine oil, filters and spark plugs, before a gearbox service was also carried out. The vehicle has also been fitted with new lower arms and rear air suspension shock absorbers, while a Stage Two detail has been carried out by Alchemy Detailing. Mercedes-Benz specialist MSL Performance carried out the tuning work on the engine and carried out a health check. At the same time they advised the owner that a larger heat exchanger had previously been installed.

The last MOT test was carried out on 21 September 2020 at 93,268 km (57,954 miles), which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The wheels come wrapped with Pirelli P Zero tyres, which are reported to have 5mm of tread remaining all round.

This Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Estate is a high-specification example of the marque’s capacious performance car. Thrilling and practical in equal measure, it would make a superb all-rounder for any AMG enthusiast.
