This Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is an elegant and powerful four-seater grand tourer, presented in a timeless black-on-black factory colour scheme, and with relatively low mileage. Under the bonnet is the 5.7-litre ‘Tipo F133’ V12 engine, producing 532bhp, driving the rear wheels through the six-speed ‘F1A’ automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 44,947 miles from new.
First registered in June 2005, this 612 has five previous keepers on the V5C. It is now offered for sale by the trade.
The bodywork presents in superb condition, with no signs of any previous damage, and with smooth and straight panels all around the car. Its black paintwork is also in excellent order, with the vendor noting that the sills have recently been repainted. All of the light lenses are in good condition, as are the badges, though the passenger-side headlight washer cover is missing. The Scuderia shields are not factory-fitted items, but are correctly located. The car rides on the optional 20-inch Challenge alloys, which are in pristine order having been fully refurbished and powder-coated, and sit in front of standard discs with yellow brake callipers.
The 612’s smart cabin is extensively upholstered in smooth black leather with white contrast stitching, and it remains in excellent condition, with minimal signs of use. There are fully electrically adjustable and heated front seats, and the rear seats have evidently seen far less use. Some very minor marks are visible in the photos, but overall the interior presents superbly. Its headlining has recently been re-glued by D:Class Automotive in Surrey, and the vendor notes that the airbag cover would also benefit from similar treatment. There are no known electrical faults.
Its last scheduled maintenance was in February 2019 at 43,820 miles, carried out by Stratstone Ferrari. There are 10 further services on file dating back to May 2006, which are summarised below. The drive belts were last changed five years ago, so are now due for renewal again based on time rather than mileage.
The most recent MOT test was on 17 August 2020 at 44,874 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories whatsoever. A brand-new set of Pirelli P Zero tyres has recently been fitted, and all four wheels have been re-balanced.
This Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is reported to be a particularly impressive example of the flagship GT car, which presents in superb cosmetic condition, and also drives beautifully. It is fair to say that these four-seater V12s are generally underrated, but they are becoming a savvy choice with collectors and enthusiasts, who recognise the remarkable value considering the performance on offer. A superb contemporary Ferrari with a great specification, it will no doubt delight its next owner, whether on short weekend runs or cross-continental road trips.
