2005 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage is an excellent example of the elegant contemporary sports car, which has been well maintained and is presented in a timeless black-on-black colour scheme. Under the bonnet is the 380bhp 4.3-litre V8, which drives the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 38,245 miles from new.

Introduced as a rival for likes of the Porsche 911, the V8 Vantage was the first car to use the marque’s second-generation VH chassis architecture, which made extensive use of lightweight materials throughout the structure and body.

First registered in November 2005, the car was acquired by the seller four years ago, and has been serviced by Aston Martin specialists on an annual basis during their tenure.

Today, the flowing bodywork remains in superb order, with straight panels and even shut lines. While it is not known whether the black metallic paintwork has had any remedial work in the past, it presents excellently. In line with its age, the finish does feature a few small blemishes, including stone chips on the nose and some minor bubbling around the door handles, which is a common Vantage issue.

All of the exterior trim is in very good condition, as are the light lenses, which are clear and free of any chips, cracks or substantial scratches. The car rides on its original set of 19-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, which are very smart, however there are some touched-in kerb scratches on the rear driver’s side wheel and slight corrosion on one of the front passenger-side wheel’s spokes.

Moving inside, the cabin is in great shape for the car’s age, with some general use-related marks but no damage whatsoever. Clad in black leather with matching stitching, the supportive sports seats are in very good order, and while there is some creasing and wear – particularly on the driver’s outer bolster – this is minor, and is commensurate with the car’s age. Elsewhere, the interior plastics, trim and controls are all very tidy, and carbon-fibre sill covers add an attractive racy touch. Factory-fitted equipment includes heated and electrically adjustable seats, air-conditioning, satellite navigation and rear parking sensors. All of the switchgear works as it should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Having been serviced regularly throughout its life, this V8 Vantage is reported to be in fine mechanical health. Its most recent routine maintenance was an oil service, which was carried out in June 2020 at 37,641 miles by Aston Martin specialist AML Performance. Prior to this, AML performed a full service in August 2019 at 37,090 miles and the engine oil and filter were changed in July 2018 at 34,658 miles.

While it is almost entirely standard, this handsome Vantage has been fitted with a twin-plate organic clutch and VelocityAP lowering springs, which provide it with a more purposeful stance while also enhancing its ride and handling.

The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 20 November 2020, which it passed with only a note about factory-fitted covers after the registration plate lamp bulb was changed. All four wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, which are in excellent condition and have covered around 5,000 miles since they were fitted.

It will be accompanied by documentation of its service history, including a file of invoices for its past maintenance and a number of MOT test certificates.

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a refined British sporting GT, which is arguably already a modern classic, thanks to its attractive styling and sonorous V8 engine. Presented in very good condition throughout and routinely maintained by marque specialists, this coupe is ready to delight its next owner at every opportunity, and will make a fine addition to any collection.
