2005 ASTON MARTIN DB9

This Aston Martin DB9 is a low-mileage example of the refined British grand tourer, which is finished in a rare factory colour, and has just two private owners from new. Under the bonnet is a 5.9-litre V12, which produces 450bhp and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with ‘Touchtronic’ paddle shift. The odometer indicates just 23,900 miles.

First registered in March 2005, this DB9 was specified in the special-order hue of Glacial Blue metallic over a cream leather interior. Its second keeper has enjoyed the car for some 14 years, and the car is now offered for sale on their behalf.

Today, the car’s bodywork is free of any accident damage, with dent-free panels and even shut lines. Overall, the appealing Glacial Blue metallic paintwork is in good order; however, there are stone chips on the front bumper, and bubbles on the leading edge of the bonnet, beside the door handles and on the rear driver’s-side wheel arch.

The exterior trim presents well and the light lenses are free of any chips or cracks, though the matt black paint on the base of the passenger-side door mirror arm has flaked away, which is a common foible of this era of Aston Martin. It rides on a set of 19-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels, which would benefit from refurbishment in due course.

Moving inside, the cabin is trimmed in cream leather, which is punctuated by attractive veneer inlays on the centre console and door cappings. The seats are in great shape, with no rips or tears to their upholstery, and only modest signs of use in line with the low mileage. The interior trim presents very well indeed, and the black leather-clad steering wheel is free of any significant blemishes. Factory-fitted equipment includes electrically adjustable seats, satellite navigation, climate control, and rear parking sensors. The vendor notes that the CD player appears to be sticking; however, the radio and the car’s other electrical items and controls work as they should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This DB9’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out by Aston Martin Edinburgh in January 2020 at 23,427 miles. As well as a full service, this also included replacement of the front and rear brake discs and pads. Prior to this, the car was serviced in May 2017 at 21,164 miles and in May 2016 at 20,742 miles, with independent specialist Martin’s Aston Services carrying out the work on both occasions.

During the most recent ownership, the car was also fitted with a new battery in December 2020, and the nearside front ABS sensor and hub bearing were replaced in July 2020.

Its latest MOT test was conducted on 16 February 2021 at 23,865 miles, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres, which are in good condition and have around 5mm of usable tread remaining.

This stunning British grand tourer will be accompanied by its stamped service book and the majority of its past MOT test certificates and service invoices. It will also be supplied with its tyre inflation device and warning triangle.

This low-mileage Aston Martin DB9 is an undeniably handsome grand tourer, which is presented in a rare factory hue and with a strong main dealer and specialist service history from new. While its exterior would benefit from some minor cosmetic improvement, this is still a striking modern performance car, which is ready to delight its next owner with its characterful V12 at every opportunity.
