This 2004 Volvo V70 R is a superb example of a rare performance estate, presented with an appealing Magic Blue finish and a comprehensive maintenance history. Under the bonnet sits the 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing around 296bhp and 295lb-ft of torque, coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission that transmits through a Haldex allwheel drive system. First registered in September 2004, this original UK-market V70 has been in the hands of its current keeper for 14 years, and has just three previous keepers on the V5C.

The bodywork of this V70 is all in good order, and the condition of its Magic Blue paintwork has been described as excellent. The vendor has indicated that a small blemish can be seen on the nearside front wing, alongside a couple of stone chips on the front valance and a small scratch on the bonnet. The front valance was re-painted when the vendor purchased the vehicle, but the rest of the finish remains original. The vehicle rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, which have recently been refurbished and present in excellent condition all round.Inside, the Gobi Beige leather trim is in superb order, presenting with just some very light creasing. The leather-clad door cards are in excellent shape, while the black dashboard trim is free of any scuffs and the metallic blue instruments hint at the performance on offer. The cabin is equipped with air-conditioning, heated seats, parking sensors, a built-in phone, and a Volvo RTI sat-nav system, which is neatly concealed within the top of the dash when not in use. No electrical faults have been detected.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in September 2019 at 93,199 miles, where technicians at Snows Volvo Winchester carried out the marque’s EService, before replacing the cambelt, auxiliary belt and brake pressure sensors. Prior to this, Snows Volvo carried out routine maintenance in May 2017 at 91,857 miles and in June 2013 at 86,287 miles, also changing the exhaust bracket and gear selector solenoid.

The most recent MOT test was on 9 October 2020 at 93,470 miles, which resulted in a pass with one advisory to monitor a deteriorated fuel filler cap seal. The Pirelli tyres appear to be in good condition, all with at least 4.5mm of tread.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original handbooks and service book in their factory leather wallet, along with an extensive history of maintenance invoices.
