2004 RENAULTSPORT CLIO 182 - CUP SUSPENSION

A low mileage, low ownership example of a superb hot hatch, this 2004 Renaultsport Clio 182 has covered just 23,550 miles from new. Powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four engine coupled with a slick five-speed manual gearbox, this example boasts factory Cup suspension and is in very smart original condition.

Finished in Black Gold with a black leather and Alcantara interior, the car is unmodified and has just had a major service. These Renaultsport Clios continue to garner affection as fantastic, no-nonsense hot hatches with razor sharp handling, and this is a fine example of a genuine modern classic.

First registered on 17 September 2004, there is just one previous keeper on the log book, though the vendor reports the car has been owned by one celebrity family only. It is now offered by the trade.

The Black Gold paintwork is in generally very good condition, and is believed to be the factory finish. The vendor has noted there are some minor imperfections from use, notably a small scratch to the offside rear bumper, some very light scratches to the bonnet, a small scratch to the offside A-pillar, minor stone chips to the bonnet, a very small dent to the passenger door, and some minor scuff marks to the top of the rear bumper. The 16-inch alloy wheels present superbly with no visible marks, having been professionally refurbished by specialist Lepsons to the correct graphite finish.

Moving inside, the black leather and Alcantara interior is in excellent condition - testament to the car’s low mileage. The front sport seats show minimal wear, and the rear seats are also in great shape. The vendor does note some visible wear to the steering wheel. The car has an upgraded stereo head unit with DAB digital radio, aux-in and USB capability.

The car was most recently serviced in July 2020 at 23,485 miles. This major maintenance visit included a cambelt replacement and air-conditioning re-gas as well as a full engine oil service and fresh brake fluid. The vendor states that the car has received regular maintenance prior to this service, and today has no faults or defective items.

The car was MOT tested in August 2019 at 23,292 miles with no advisories, and is wearing Bridgestone tyres to the front and Goodyear tyres to the rear. These are date-coded to 2017 and 2018 and have approximately 6mm of tread all round.

In 2016, the car initially failed its MOT with a number of items needing attention. All of these were immediately attended to, evidenced by an invoice for around £3,500 in the history file, and the car subsequently passed three days later with no advisories.
