2004 PORSCHE CARRERA GT - EX-JENSON BUTTON

KEY FACTS

  • One of the all-time great analogue supercars, this Carrera GT is a well-maintained example with fantastic provenance.
  • Its engine is a race-bred 612hp 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V10, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
  • This car was initially owned and driven by 2009 Formula One World Champion, Jenson Button, when he lived in Monaco. It has spent time in Jersey, the UK, and is now located in the Netherlands as an EU taxes-paid car.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • Finished in Seal Grey over Terracotta leather, this Carrera GT is original and unmodified, wearing the correct five-spoke alloy wheels.
  • Less than 10% of the model’s production run was delivered in Seal Grey, making it a rare colour.
  • The factory specification includes manual air-conditioning, an uprated battery, Becker Online Pro stereo system, and a full luggage set in matching Terracotta leather.
  • This Carrera GT comes with the original Porsche car cover and battery charger, the full set of leather accessories and luggage, extra cushions, and the protection covers for stowage of the two roof elements.
  • All of the original books are present, including the stamped maintenance record, plus the factory-supplied tools.
  • It comes with an excellent history file, including a letter from Jenson Button’s Personal Assistant, confirming the racing driver’s prior ownership of this particular car. There are also other written sources in the file confirming this.
  • Also present is the original and exceptionally rare boxed pewter sculpture of the V10 engine, which was a gift to future owners upon ordering a Carrera GT, with this set containing a plaque engraved with Jenson’s name.

CONDITION

  • There is no bodywork damage.
  • While there is no paint protection film fitted, the Seal Grey finish is in excellent condition. There may be some minor stone chips to the front, but the seller states that the car has the appearance of a car with half the mileage.
  • Inside, the Terracotta leather is in great shape, with slight signs of use but no significant wear or discolouration, in line with the very low mileage.
  • There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • Last serviced in April 2020 at 8,157 km at Porsche Centre Antwerp, this was a maintenance visit with the engine oil and filter renewed, as well as fitment of a fresh set of tyres, and replacement of all three radiators.
  • It received a major service along with a new ceramic clutch at 6,187 km.
