2004 FERRARI 360 SPIDER F1

This Ferrari 360 Spider is a low-mileage example of the marque’s millennium-era supercar, presented in a sleek Nero Daytona finish and with very good maintenance history. It is equipped with a 3.6-litre V8 engine producing 395bhp, which drives the rear wheels though Ferrari’s automatic ‘F1’ paddle shift transmission. The odometer currently indicates 38,949 miles from new.

First registered in May 2004, this 360 Spider is understood to be one of just 513 cars delivered new to the UK with the F1 transmission, and was specified in a relatively rare and handsome colour scheme. There are seven previous keepers on the log book, and it is now offered for sale by the trade.

The Nero Daytona paintwork covering the 360’s sculpted bodywork is reported to be in generally good condition, having recently been detailed, though a few minor blemishes have been reported by the seller. The front bumper, nearside rear quarter and rear bumper have all been repainted at some point, and today the car presents with some light stone chips commensurate with the mileage. The vendor reports that the underside of the front bumper is also scuffed, while a hairline crack measuring less than 3cm is just visible on the engine cover. There is some minor damage on the roof cover panel, which has been touched-in. It rides on the original five-spoke alloys, which are in good order, showing only minor damage to one wheel.

The cabin is finished with beige leather, which presents with some light creasing and visible wear to the driver’s seat bolster, but remains in good overall condition. The main contact points present well, and there are only small marks around the interior where trim pieces have been slightly nicked or grazed. There are small nicks in the leather where the driver’s door panel meets the dashboard, though most of this superficial damage is not visible when the door is closed.

The last service was undertaken in November 2019 at 36,973 miles, where technicians at Diablo Engineering in Haywards Heath changed the engine oil and filter. Prior to this, recent maintenance visits were to Kent High Performance Cars in June 2018 at 36,040 miles, and also in June 2017 at 35,388 miles – the latter including renewal of the 360’s cambelts, tensioners and bushes. The rear brake discs were also replaced at this time.

The most recent MOT test was on 5 November 2020 at 38,396 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels are wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which the vendor notes are date-coded to 2013 and still have around 5mm of tread remaining. Its clutch wear reading stood at 54.25% as of 5 November 2020.

Accompanying the vehicle is the original Schedoni leather book wallet, containing the car’s owner’s manual, stamped service book and other user guides. The original toolkit is also present, along with various service invoices and MOT certificates.

This Ferrari 360 Spider is an exhilarating convertible V8 supercar, which could be the ideal entry point to modern-era Ferrari ownership. While there are a few minor cosmetic blemishes as noted, this car has been regularly maintained by recognised Ferrari specialists and would make a fun addition to any collection, ready to take out and enjoy when the sun is shining.
