2004 FERRARI 360 SPIDER - MANUAL

This Ferrari 360 Spider is a low-mileage, well-maintained and engaging open-top supercar. Power comes from a 3.6-litre ‘F131’ V8, producing 395bhp, and driving the rear wheels via the desirable six-speed gated manual gearbox. The odometer shows only 15,425 miles from new.

First registered in April 2004, there have been three previous keepers before the seller, with the last owner keeping the car for more than 12 years. It was acquired by the seller in May 2017.

The Rosso Corsa paint presents in excellent condition with no blemishes or scuffs reported by the seller, and the wings are embellished with ‘Scuderia Ferrari’ shields. The photo gallery below shows its pristine condition in detail. It has a black fabric convertible hood, which is in great shape, with no rips or tears, and with no significant aging. The mechanism also works perfectly, and the hood fits snugly over the frame. It rides on a set of optional split-rim alloy wheels, which present in superb order with no damage or marks, and there are red painted brake calipers.

The interior is finished in Nero leather, and the seats have the sought-after ‘Daytona’ centre stripes. It is accented by red stitching throughout. The condition of the cabin reflects the low mileage, with minimal wear. There is slight discolouration of the plastic on the driver’s electric window switch, but otherwise the buttons and controls all present very well, and work as they should. The original Ferrari-branded stereo head unit also remains in place.

The most recent service was carried out at main dealer Lancaster Ferrari Colchester in June at 15,140 miles. The camshaft timing belts were replaced, along with the engine oil and filter, and both rear upper ball joints. The previous service was carried out at Ferrari specialist Shiltech in April 2017, which included new brake fluid, new key fobs and a new left-hand roof flap. The car has no known mechanical faults, but the seller states that the tracking device can drain the battery when not in use – so a trickle charger is recommended.

The most recent MOT test was carried out on 7 June 2019 at 15,134 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories. Given the six-month extension, the next annual inspection is not due until 18 December 2020. The front tyres are in as-new condition having been recently fitted, and the rear tyres also have ample tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is the original book pack, including the stamped maintenance record, and even the Ferrari Maglite torch. The leather-bound tool kit is also present, as well as the tyre inflator. The seller also notes that numerous invoices detailing servicing and maintenance are in the history file.

This Ferrari 360 Spider is a thrilling open-top supercar, which benefits from a timeless factory specification. Even more aurally exciting than the Modena coupe thanks to being able to drop the roof to listen to the glorious V8 behind you; this is a well-maintained car that presents in superb condition throughout.  It is now ready to be cherished and enjoyed on the road by a new owner, and would make a fine addition to any collection of Maranello’s finest.
