This TVR Tuscan Speed Six is a thrilling British sports car, blending exotic styling with a decidedly analogue driving experience bereft of electronic aids. Under the bonnet is a 3.6-litre straight-six, producing around 350bhp, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer shows 19,770 miles.

Supplied by Hawthorns TVR, and first registered on 30 May 2003, this Tuscan has two previous keepers on the log book, and was acquired by the vendor nearly one year ago.

The bodywork is in excellent condition, with no evidence of any damage to the panels, and the vendor also reports that the paint is in superb order - which is why he believes it may have been refreshed either in part or whole earlier in its life. There is a very small mark on the driver’s side rear wing above the rear wheel, but otherwise the finish is smooth and glossy all around the body. It rides on the original seven-spoke alloy wheels, which appear pristine.

The interior comes from arguably the peak of TVR’s refusal to conform to standard cabin design, blending curved surfaces, exposed metal elements, and bespoke switchgear. The combination of Magnolia and Mulberry complements the exterior perfectly, and remains in excellent condition with minimal wear. There is slight wear to the edge of the driver’s seat, and the odd minor mark to the trim, but overall the interior is in great shape.

Mechanically, this Tuscan is reported to be in very good order, with 12 services on record in the history file. The most recent was in December 2020 at 19,749 miles, carried out by Neil Garner TVR. This was a 12,000-mile major service, including fresh engine oil and filter, new spark plugs, and a replacement battery. Prior to this, the most recent services were in July 2016 at 18,875 miles, and June 2015 at 18,638 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 1 December 2020 at 19,659 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels are shod with Michelin tyres on the front axle and Falken and Toyo tyres on the rear, which are all in good condition. Accompanying the car is the original handbook and stamped maintenance record.

This TVR Tuscan Speed Six is a superb example of the breed, which the TVR specialist who serviced the car most recently said was probably the best car they have ever seen. It is presented in a great colour scheme, with low mileage, and with a well-documented history of regular maintenance from new. If you have been seeking one of these wild British icons to join your collection, then now is your chance to acquire one that has been very well-cared for.
