2003 PORSCHE 911 (996) TURBO

With low mileage, solid maintenance history, and fitted with an extensive carbon-fibre interior upgrade, this 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo is a stunning example of the late-model 996. It runs a watercooled 3.6-litre flat-six motor with twin turbochargers and intercooler, and can put out 415hp, driving all four wheels via the five-speed Tiptronic transmission. The odometer reads 76,079 km.

The Porsche was manufactured in 2003 and first registered on 11 April that year. It has been with the current owner for six years, during which time it has only been used sparingly as they primarily lived overseas.

The exterior of the car is in great shape, with no evidence of any prior accident damage, or dents or corrosion. The panels are straight and smooth, and its Dark Teal Metallic paintwork is in similarly excellent condition, with a deep shine across the body. Upon discovering a small 1.5cm across patch on the bonnet where a previous owner had polished through the clear coat, the owner had the front guards, bonnet and front bumper blended-in to ensure that the paint presents in stunning condition. The bonnet and front bumper have a transparent paint protection film coating, and the paint has also been treated to a ceramic coating.

Its body trims present well and the car’s original owner upgraded the standard rear wing with a carbon-fibre 996 GT2 item. The wing mirror caps were also swapped to carbon-fibre items, and the wheels were changed to 18-inch 996 GT3 alloys with a custom ball-polished finish. The black plastic front splitter has some minor damage, though this component is inexpensive to replace in the future. The windshield has a small stone chip in the lower third, as shown in the gallery.

Inside, the upholstery is original and is in lovely condition, presenting with minimal signs of use and just some slight wear around the driver’s outer bolster and seat base. Factory-fitted equipment includes climate control, cruise control, and the Bose surround-sound system. Its stereo has been swapped to a more contemporary Clarion item, and all of the electrics work as they should, with no warning lights on the dashboard either.

To complement the carbon-fibre exterior details, the original owner also decided to fit carbon-fibre trims inside, with the gloss-finish composite applied to the door handles and storage bin lids; the air vent surrounds, instrument binnacle, centre console, door kick plates, and transmission tunnel; as well as the steering wheel inlays, gear shifter, handbrake grip, and the speaker housings. In general, these trim items are in very good condition, with the current owner noting that a couple of pieces may benefit from being reaffixed more securely.

The 911 was last serviced just a few weeks ago in February 2021 at 76,257 km by Porsche specialist RPM’S in Arncliffe, NSW. Service work included an oil and filter change, as well as replacement of the transmission mount brushes. Prior to that, the car was given a full service including spark plugs in December 2019. The vendor states that it has always been looked after by Porsche specialists and dealers.

A roadworthiness test was carried out on the car in February 2021 and it passed without issue. The tyres are in excellent condition, with the owner reporting just 1,000 km of use since they were fitted. All original log books, tools and a folder of invoices will be included in the sale of the car.

Boasting impressive performance even by the latest standards, this Porsche 996 Turbo is an exciting modern GT car, which has been treated to some discerning carbon-fibre upgrades, and presents in generally superb order throughout. It would make a fine customised addition to any Porsche collection, and is also ready to enjoy as a weekend toy or eye-catching daily driver.
