2003 PORSCHE 911 (996) TURBO - 17,418 MILES

This glorious Porsche 911 Turbo must be among the smartest examples on sale today. With original features and remarkably low mileage for its age, you will not find much closer to a brand-new 996. With a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged ‘Mezger’ engine producing 414bhp, a four-wheel-drive system and Porsche’s Tiptronic transmission, the car offers staggering performance. The odometer shows just 17,418 miles.

This 911 was first registered on 23 December 2003, and has had four previous keepers over its lifetime. It has been in the hands of the current owner for three years.

The car’s Arctic Silver paintwork appears to be original and is in stunning condition. The seller notes a 3mm stone chip above the driver’s-side headlight and a similar-sized chip on the right rear wheel. The marked alloy is visible in the image gallery provided, but the bodywork chip has been corrected with a paint pen. There is also some minor lacquer peel around one of the rear parking sensors. Otherwise, the bodywork looks in great shape, and as you might expect from a Porsche with so few miles under its wheels, the shut lines appear flush and the panel gaps consistent.

Inside, the car comes with Metropole Blue leather, which is believed to be original. The seller says the cabin is in excellent condition, and the photos below appear to back that up. The vendor also attests that the switchgear and infotainment systems work as they should and there are no warning lights on the dashboard. The seller only notes some slight creasing in the bolster of the driver’s seat, as can be seen in the images. There are no known electrical faults; however, the rear wing deployment warning light has recently come on, despite the wing itself moving up and down correctly.

The car’s last service was carried out in July 2019 at Porsche Centre Swindon, at which point the car had covered 16,947 miles. The seller says that service included major maintenance and a brake fluid change. That service followed previous maintenance at Porsche Centre Nottingham in April 2017, and also at JZM Porsche in November 2015. During the vendor’s ownership, the car has received a new pair of rear tyres, as well as a new oil gauge sensor. Prior to the seller’s acquisition of the car, JZM Porsche fitted a new gearbox in November 2012.

The most recent MOT test was on 6 July 2020, at 17,199 miles, which resulted in a clean pass. At present, the car has Pirelli front tyres with around 7mm of tread. The rear tyres, meanwhile, are Michelin Pilot Sport items with around 5-6mm of tread.

The car is supplied with all relevant handbooks in the black wallet, including the service record, and the original tools are also included. Two keys are present.

This car is already a collector’s item, but it is also a fine example of one of the most usable supercars of the early 2000s. With such low mileage and only a few minor blemishes, it can be treasured and tucked away as a ‘time warp’ example, or could be used and enjoyed as intended as a seriously capable day-to-day supercar.

All UK-registered cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. This vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and has no finance owing.
