RESERVE LOWERED: 2003 FERRARI 575M MARANELLO - FIORANO HANDLING PACK

This Ferrari 575M Maranello is a striking example of the marque’s flagship GT of the early noughties, equipped with the desirable Fiorano Handling pack and finished in a handsome and rare factory colour scheme. Under the bonnet is the 508bhp 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12, coupled to the F1 six-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 31,188 miles from new, which is fully evidenced by the comprehensive history.

It left the factory finished in Nero Daytona, with an interior trimmed in Crema hide. The factory-fitted options included the Fiorano Handling pack - comprising lower and stiffer springs, a thicker anti-roll bar, uprated brake pads, and adjustments to the wheel geometry - as well as the 19-inch split-rim alloys, the high-power Hi-Fi, ‘Daytona’ style seat inserts and a leather shrouded fire extinguisher.

First registered on 26 April 2003, this is an original right-hand drive UK market car, though interestingly it was first registered to an owner with an address in Las Vegas. There are five previous registered keepers on the log book. The owner has cherished and enjoyed this car over the last seven years, keeping it regularly maintained with an independent Ferrari specialist.

The bodywork and paint finish is described by the seller as being in very good condition. He notes a small 2mm dent on the offside rear quarter, a 5mm blister on the offside rear bumper, and some minimal blistering at the leading edge of the bonnet, which are visible and pointed out in the photo gallery below. There is also a small 5mm scuff on the nearside wing mirror, and up to five minor stone chips on the bonnet. He understands that the front bumper and bonnet have previously been repainted before his ownership, which would almost certainly have been to rectify stone chips. Overall, the Nero Daytona paintwork presents very well.

Its body trims and badges are all present and correct, and the red brake calipers add a dash of vibrant colour to the exterior appearance. The seller notes two chips are present on the passenger side of the windscreen, but otherwise the glass is undamaged. Its 19-inch split-rim alloys have some minor lacquer delamination around the diamond-cut rims, but there is no kerbing damage, and no paint defects on the main part of the wheels. The only modifications to the factory specification are 25mm Hill Engineering spacers fitted to the rear wheels, and Tubi back box bypass pipes - with the original centre boxes and catalytic converters still installed.

Turning to the interior, the leather is in excellent condition throughout. There is very minor wear visible on the driver’s side bolster, but the rest of the trim looks genuinely superb. The door cards and dashboard sections are in equally good order. The black ‘Daytona’ stripes provide a great contrast while reflecting the body colour, and there is also black carpeting throughout.

During the seller’s ownership, it has been regularly serviced by Ferrari specialist Stewart Roden at Scuderia Ecosse, with the last scheduled maintenance taking place in June 2020 at 31,071 miles. This was a full service that included renewal of all the drive belts and tensioners, as well as the front brake discs and pads.

Prior to this it was serviced in March 2018 at 30,148 miles, and in August 2017 at 29,012, with the latter also included repair of an ECU after a blown fuse. During the seller’s ownership, it has been fastidiously maintained, with the suspension cleaned and the Waxoyl rust protection topped up annually to ensure the underside remains very clean, and the paint on the brake disc bells has been regularly refreshed.

Its last MOT test was on 17 June 2020 at 31,065 miles, which it passed at the first attempt with no advisories whatsoever. Testament to the fastidious care and maintenance of all its owners, the car has never failed an annual MOT test, and has only ever had one single advisory in 2009 for rear tyre wear. The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres at the front, and P Zero Corsa items at the rear. The latter still have a good level of tread remaining, while the front pair are legal but in need of replacement.

Accompanying the car is the complete set of original books housed in the tan leather wallet, including the stamped maintenance record showing all services from new. The seller has compiled a superb record of not only the maintenance but also the ownership history, with known sale dates and dealers. A complete tool kit is also present, and is in excellent condition, along with the Ferrari tyre repair kit, and two keys and three immobiliser fobs.

This Ferrari 575M Maranello is a stylish and sophisticated grand touring car, with a glorious high-capacity engine and superb road manners, which can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds, and go on to a top speed of 202mph. This particular example boasts an excellent maintenance history record, not to mention a desirable factory specification with the Fiorano Handling package. Its condition and mileage undoubtedly make it an appealing prospect for any Ferrari collection, and it is sure to impress its next owner whenever they get behind the wheel.
