2003 FERRARI 456M GTA

This 2003 Ferrari 456M GTA is a handsomely specified example of the sleek Italian grand tourer, presented in excellent overall condition and with very low mileage from new. It is powered by a 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, which produces around 436bhp and drive the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The odometer displays just 21,853 miles, which is fully evidenced by the car’s history file.

As denoted by its ‘M’ model-name suffix, this 456M is a later ‘Modificata’ facelifted example, and as such features fog lights recessed into its smaller front grille and a lightweight carbon-fibre bonnet, as well as a redesigned dashboard with circular vents, among other items.

First registered in June 2003, this original right-hand drive UK-market example was acquired by its current owner around four years ago, and has been maintained to a high standard by Ferrari main dealers and specialists throughout its life.

Free of any accident damage, both the flowing Pininfarina-designed bodywork and Nero Daytona finish are in fantastic condition, with only a few minor stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet, commensurate with the car’s age and road use. All of the paintwork is believed to be original, and the exterior trim and badges including its Scuderia wing shields present well. The car rides on the correct set of 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, which are in great shape, with no scuffs, scratches or chips to speak of.

Moving inside, the cabin is trimmed in eye-catching two-tone black and red leather, which complements the body colour while also adding an extra touch of Italian flair. Given the car’s age, its red striped ‘Daytona’ seats present remarkably well, with barely any signs of use. Having been reupholstered by Ferrari specialist Rardley Motors, the black leather-covered dashboard is also in excellent condition, and is accented by the same vibrant red stitching which is found throughout the car’s interior.

The door cards are also in great shape, though the leather covering the upper portion of the driver’s side item is bubbling slightly, which is also the case on the centre of the steering wheel. Impressively for a Ferrari of this era, none of the interior buttons have become ‘sticky’ with age, and all of the switches and electrical items work without fault, with no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This 456M’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in November 2020 at 21,700 miles by Rardley Motors, performing a general oil service and replacing one of the car’s shock absorbers. Prior to this, Rardley also carried out the car’s last two services, as well as fully retrimming the dashboard. The seller notes that the cambelts were last replaced in 2017.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 27 November 2020 at 21,704 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories. All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tyres, which date to 2015 and are described by the vendor as being in very good condition.

Accompanying the car are its tan leather document wallet which contains all of its original handbooks, plus extensive documentation of its service history to date and its correct Ferrari tool kit.

Understood to be one of only 139 right-hand drive examples built, this Ferrari 456M GTA is a rare and stylish grand tourer.
