2003 FERRARI 360 CHALLENGE STRADALE

This Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is an excellent low-mileage example of the ‘ultimate’ road-going iteration of the 360 Modena. Powered by a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated ‘Tipo 131’ V8 coupled to the automated manual ‘F1’ transmission with paddle shifters, this example has covered just 24,892 miles (40,060km).

First registered on 1 January 2003, this track-focused supercar is a left-hand-drive, Italian-supplied vehicle. It was imported to the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in May 2014, and was acquired by the current owner just one month later. Since then, the vendor has ensured this Challenge Stradale has been maintained irrespective of cost or mileage, and is offering the car for sale simply due to lack of use.

The Rosso Scuderia paintwork presents in excellent condition, with only minor stone chips affecting the exposed edges of the vehicle. The front bumper benefits from PPF protection, while all four alloy wheels have been recently refurbished and are unmarked; each being shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres. All of the panel gaps and shut lines appear even, while the lenses, carbon-fibre mirrors and Scuderia shields are free of any marks or scratches.

Inside, the cabin of this 360 CS is in great shape, with no damage to the Alcantara upholstery. The driver’s seat outer bolster has some signs of wear and slight fading. All the carbon-fibre panels and trims are in good order, with just some minor marks to the driver’s door card and seat edge. There are no warning lights on the dashboard and all the electronics in the cabin work as they should.

The most recent service took place last week at 24,890 miles and was carried out by Ferrari specialist Foskers, including a full cam belt replacement. An inspection report carried out during this work is also shown in the gallery. Prior to this, annual services were carried out in 2019 and 2018, again by Foskers. The vendor notes that the stamp for the 2019 service was forgotten; however Foskers will stamp the book to complete this. In addition to routine servicing, the F1 gearbox was fully rebuilt in 2019, while the cam belts were previously replaced during 2017.

This most recent MOT test was carried out on 19 April 2021 at 40,071 km, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or alerts. All four tyres were replaced in 2019 and have hardly been used, with plenty of tread remaining.

While the car has been kept largely ‘stock’, the black brake calipers have been repainted in Rosso Scuderia to match the body, while an active exhaust bypass valve has been installed to let the Stradale’s V8 engine truly sing.

Included with the vehicle are the original Italian documents, stamped service record, UK registration document, past MOT certificates and numerous invoices for work carried out to the vehicle while in the care of the vendor. The tan leather document folder is also present, along with two sets of keys. The current registration ‘CS04 MOD’ is included in the sale.

Presenting in superb condition throughout and with an extensive history folder, this Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is a wonderful example of the marque’s track-focused but road legal supercar, boasting incredible handling and intoxicating performance, and would make a fine addition to any collection.
