2002 RANGE ROVER (P38) WESTMINSTER

KEY FACTS

• A great example of the final ‘run-out’ Range Rover model with a strong specification and low mileage.
• It is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing around 188hp, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission.
• Produced to celebrate the end of P38 production, the Westminster models benefitted from an extensive equipment list. It is thought to be one of only 150 delivered in the UK market.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Westminster models featured electric windows, door mirrors and a glass sunroof, along with an upgraded stereo system, air-conditioning, cruise control, and an in-built sat-nav system.
• The interiors featured metal trim accents and ‘Westminster’ sill tread plates, as well as stylish Poplar Anthracite wood inlays, giving the cabin a more contemporary appearance.
• This example remains largely original, but has been fitted with side steps and with Janspeed silencers for the exhaust system.
• Included with the car are all the original Range Rover handbooks, stamped service history, V5 showing five former keepers and various maintenance invoices.

CONDITION

• There is no sign of any prior damage to the bodywork.
• The paintwork is in generally excellent condition, as shown in the photo gallery below.
• All four ‘Hurricane’ alloy wheels look pristine, with no kerbing marks or other damage.
• The cabin presents very well, with no damage or significant wear to the leather upholstery, and only modest signs of use in line with the low mileage. Rubber floor mats are present throughout to protect the carpets.
• All of the switchgear and systems work as they should, with no known faults on the vehicle or warning lights present.
• The car currently does not have a valid MOT certificate, but the vendor will obtain a new one during the auction, ready for handover to the next owner. The last current test on record was in June 2019 at 57,136 miles, when it passed with no defects or advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The latest service took place during February 2019 at 57,136 miles and was carried out by Colwills Garage in Bude. This comprised of a standard oil and filter service.
• Prior to this, this Westminster was serviced in August 2018 at 56,745 miles and in June 2013 at 49,902 miles.
• In addition to servicing, a full set of new brake discs and pads has recently been fitted.

SUMMARY

With a high factory specification and the unique exterior and interior features of the run-out ‘Westminster’ model, this 2002 Range Rover P38 is in great shape for its age, and could be a comfortable and luxurious daily driver, or a smart occasional car for leisure pursuits or weekend trips.
