2002 FERRARI 575M MARANELLO

This Ferrari 575M Maranello is a stylish and sophisticated grand tourer, which is presented in great condition and with impressive service history. Its engine is the 508bhp ‘Tipo F133 E’ 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12, coupled to the F1 six-speed automated manual transmission. The odometer shows 43,273 miles from new.

The Ferrari’s factory specification includes smart Argento Nurburgring paintwork, with an interior in ‘Blu Scuro’ leather with the Daytona-style seat panels, as well as a leather-trimmed luggage shelf. It is equipped with the standard five-spoke 18-inch wheels, silver brake calipers, and a Tubi exhaust system.

First registered in November 2002, it was supplied by main dealer Graypaul in Loughborough. There are just three previous registered keepers on the log book, and the current owner acquired the car nearly 10 years ago. Since then, he has covered around 17,400 miles behind the wheel, and has had the car serviced by specialist DK Engineering.

The bodywork is in good condition, with no evidence of panel damage. As this example has been enjoyed on the road, the paint has been refreshed in a few places over the years to ensure it presents smartly, with the front bumper and lip spoiler refinished more recently. There are minor blemishes in the finish, with the seller noting a few small chips on the bonnet, a nick on the scuttle panel where one wiper has grazed the trim, and small marks on the rear bumper - all shown in the gallery below.

There is some chipped black paint on the inside of the rear wheel arches, though the silver bodywork is covered by aged paint protection film. Some paint bubbling is also present underneath the bonnet, where it often reacts with the bonding. The seal around the rear window has some discolouration, as well as slight perishing of the rubbers around its joint and around the rear quarter light windows, so these would benefit from being renewed to improve the appearance. It sits on the original five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, which are in very good order, showing only minor peeling of the paint and lacquer near the valve stems.

In the cabin, the electrically adjustable seats are upholstered in Blu Scuro leather, and feature the desirable 'Daytona' strips in the centre panels. There are no rips or holes in the leather or stitching, and only modest wear and discolouration on the driver’s seat side bolster, as well as a small scratch on the passenger side. The leather trims extends to the centre console, dashboard and door cards, and this car is also fitted with the optional leather luggage shelf.

There is some slight sagging of the material at the very back of the cabin, but otherwise the rest of the trim is in great shape. Some minor wear is present on the plastic coating of the hazard light button, but otherwise the switchgear presents very well. The climate control works as it should, while the radio has been to a contemporary Alpine head unit with Bluetooth connectivity and USB input.

This car has an excellent service history record. It has been looked after exclusively by Ferrari main dealers and leading specialists, including Graypaul, HR Owen, Bob Houghton, and DK Engineering. The last scheduled maintenance was carried out in March 2019, consisting of an oil service at DK Engineering. Prior to this, the car had a major service at the same specialist in March 2018 at 42,074 miles. This included renewal of the engine oil and filter, as well as replacement of the cam belt, tensioner bearing, alternator belt, and spark plugs.

During this service, the left-hand bank cylinder head oil drain seal was also replaced, along with the brake master cylinder, brake fluid, air filter and pollen filter. The front engine cross member was repainted and resealed.

In March 2017 at 40,916 miles, DK Engineering fitted all new brake flexi hoses, as well as new front tyres. In January 2014 at 34,515 miles, the front brake discs were replaced, as well as the front coil springs, bonnet gas struts, and the driver’s door lock mechanism.

The most recent MOT test was on 4 May 2019 at 43,023 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass. On the MOT before this, a suspected power steering leak was noted, which was actually traced to an oil pipe leak by DK Engineering and was subsequently rectified. Some scoring was also noted on the inside of the rear brake discs, and the offside front jacking point is still corroded, which is clearly shown in the photos below.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres in size 255/40 ZR18 at the front and 295/35 ZR18 at the rear. The seller estimates the approximate wear on the tyres is around 25% at the front and 50% at the rear.

Accompanying this Ferrari is the complete original book pack in the tan leather wallet, including the owner’s manual, user guides, service directory, and the stamped guarantee and maintenance record. The detailed history file also contains a raft of invoices for previous service work. Both the original jack and tool kit are present in their respective tan suitcases.

A Tracker security system is also fitted, which can be activated and subscribed to should the next owner wish. This system draws on the main battery, so the car should be connected to a trickle charger when garaged or stored.

This Ferrari 575M Maranello is a superb grand tourer, which is presented in impressive mechanical condition, having been looked after by leading UK specialists. Its smart colour combination benefits from some discerning options in the cabin, while the service history shows it has been very well maintained. The cherished plate '575 EFX' is also included with the car. The seller describes this 575M as "a wonderfully spirited car to drive". If you have always wanted one of Ferrari's V12 flagships, then this is a great opportunity.
