2001 NISSAN SKYLINE (R34) GT-R V SPEC II

KEY FACTS

• A legendary Japanese performance car, presented with some high-performance modifications and a striking Midnight Purple finish.
• It is powered by Nissan’s 2.6-litre twin-turbocharged RB26DETT straight-six, coupled with a six-speed Getrag 233 manual gearbox.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• All V-Spec II models feature Nissan’s ATTESA E-TS Pro four-wheel drive system, which can control both front-to-rear and left-to-right torque split to the rear wheels via an active rear limited-slip differential.
• V-Spec II cars retain the V-Spec I’s lower ride height and carbon fibre air diffuser, and also feature stiffer suspension, larger rear brake rotors and a carbon-fibre bonnet.
• This example was originally finished in Sparkling Silver, but it has since been resprayed in Midnight Purple.
• It rides on what appear to be 18-inch Nismo LM GT4 forged monoblock wheels.
• Its straight-six engine has been fitted with a Haltech R34 plug-in ECU and three-bar MAP sensor, a GReddy intercooler, Denso 720 fuel injectors, a HKS engine belt, a Tomei oil pump, a SplitFire ignition coil, an Apexi air intake with GReddy pipes and a Walbro 400 fuel pump. The twin turbochargers are now equipped with HKS actuators.
• The exhaust outlets are HKS items, and the unit also features a HKS Super Turbo Muffler.
• The original clutch has been replaced with a double-disc Nismo Coppermix item.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• Its resprayed finish has stone chips around the front end, hairline cracks in the paint under the right headlight, and minor blemishes including a small scratch on the bonnet, and marks under the rear wing.
• Inside, the vendor has indicated a small hole in the passenger door armrest, but the grey upholstery is otherwise in excellent condition for its age. There is slight discolouration around the driver’s side bolsters, but no major wear. The headlining also appears to be in great shape.
• No electrical issues have been detected.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Its most recent service was performed at 107,000 km, where technicians at Texas Service in Sochi changed the engine oil and filter.
• The engine compression was checked at 107,000 km, and was found to be running at a ratio of 11.5:1 in all six cylinders.
• Prior to this, the engine oil, filters, and spark plugs were replaced at 104,000 km.
• Another routine service was carried out at 100,000 km, and the drive belt was last replaced at 90,000 km.

SUMMARY

This Nissan Skyline (R34) GT-R V Spec II is an attention-grabbing example of the Japanese performance icon, with high-performance modifications and a repainted finish. It has well-cared for by its current owner, and while there are a few minor cosmetic flaws in the paintwork, this should prove to be a thrilling weekend toy, and a fine addition to any collection of lauded JDM vehicles.
