KEY FACTS

• An exceptionally rare open-top supercar, with very low mileage and a classic Ferrari colour scheme.
• Under the bonnet is a 478bhp 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, mated to an open-gate six-speed manual transmission.
• Originally supplied to Germany in November 2001, but now resides in Italy.
• The last private owner covered only 500 km in two years. It has been owned by Maranello Service in Cremona for several years, carefully stored and barely driven.

EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

• Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Nero interior, this 550 Barchetta features carbon-fibre racing seats, 18-inch modular wheels, carbon-fibre interior trim, and an Alcantara-clad instrument binnacle.
• The centre-console and rear bulkhead were trimmed as standard with Lorica synthetic leather, which provided greater resilience to inclement weather.
• This is car number 340 of 448 built, as denoted by the plaque in the cabin.
• Accompanying the car is the original set of books, as shown in the gallery.

CONDITION

• No body damage.
• Its Rosso Corsa paintwork is in excellent condition, thanks largely to the very low mileage and careful storage. There are some very minor imperfections on one or two of the wheels, but overall the car is in remarkable order.
• The occasional manually affixed ‘soft top’ remains with the car in its storage bag, and is in very good condition.
• The interior shows the slightest signs of use, but the leather upholstery is in superb condition. Its carbon-fibre steering wheel trim and gear knob are in great shape.
• There are no known faults.
• It has previously received basic maintenance by Maranello Service in Cremona, Italy, but has largely been stored and preserved.
• The tyres are date-coded to 2007 and have almost their full tread, but would need to be replaced based on age.

SUMMARY

This Ferrari 550 Barchetta is a superbly presented example of a very rare V12 roadster. A collector-quality example in the iconic Rosso Corsa hue, this would be a credit to any collection of Maranello’s finest, and would be a lesser-seen and eye-catching modern classic supercar to use throughout the summer months.
