2001 FERRARI 360 SPIDER

This Ferrari 360 Spider is an exotic millennium-era supercar, presented in the striking factory hue of Giallo Modena and with an excellent maintenance history. It is powered by a mid-mounted 3.6-litre V8, which produces 395bhp and drives the rear wheels through the six-speed ‘F1’ electro-hydraulic automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer displays just 33,714 miles from new.

First registered in June 2001, this 360 Spider was supplied by Maranello Sales of Tower Garage, Egham. Its first owner was the local secretary for the Ferrari Owners’ Club, and the seller acquired the car nine years ago. In the time since, they have enjoyed around 13,000 miles behind the wheel. The car has always been fastidiously maintained, and was even a runner-up in its class at the 2013 Ferrari Owners’ Club concours event.

Today, the Pininfarina-designed bodywork is in excellent condition, with flush, even shut lines and no evidence of any prior accident damage. Believed to be entirely original, the eye-catching Giallo Modena paintwork is described by the seller as being in excellent condition, with only a few minor stone chips on the nose and scuffs on the bottom edge of the front bumper.

The black fabric convertible hood is free of any rips or tears and fits snugly over its frame, and the light lenses and windows are in good order. It rides on the correct set of 18-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels, which present well; however there are some kerb scratches on the nearside front wheel, which would benefit from refurbishment in due course.

In the cabin, the seats are clad in black leather and are in good shape, with some slight scuffs on the driver’s outer bolster and general creases to the upholstery, commensurate with the car’s age. There are also minor scratches on the door cards’ silver panels.

As is common in Ferraris of this era, the coating on the air-conditioning dials has become somewhat sticky; however there are several companies who now specialise in restoring these finishes should the next owner wish to rectify that. The vendor notes that while the car’s original radio is still fitted, it is faulty, but should be repairable. All of the other interior buttons, switches and electrical items work correctly, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

The most recent routine maintenance was an annual oil service, which was carried out in September 2020 at 33,359 miles by Ferrari specialist Nick Cartwright. Prior to this, Nick Cartwright performed an oil service in August 2019 at 32,938 miles, and in August 2018 at 32,379 miles the cam belts were changed, and updated tensioner bearings were fitted. The ECU was also repaired as the ASR/gearbox warning light was illuminated, which is believed to have been caused by a trickle charging fault. The car is almost entirely unmodified; however, it has been fitted with upgraded brake hoses, front brake discs, and Pagid pads.

This 360 Spider’s last MOT test was conducted on 28 September 2020, which resulted in a pass with no advisories after an airbag fault light and an incorrectly spaced front number plate were seen to. The front wheels are shod in Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres, while the rears are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico items. The seller states that all four are in excellent condition.

Accompanying the car are all of its original manuals, along with its sales brochure and service book. The original toolkit is also present, along with the Ferrari-branded Maglite torch, a car cover, a hood cover, and two keys.

This Ferrari 360 Spider F1 is a thrilling Italian supercar, which is finished in an arresting factory colour and is presented in very good condition throughout. Available just in time to make the most of the warm spring and summer months, it is ready for many more miles of driving pleasure, soaking up the sun and the intoxicating sound of its naturally aspirated V8.
