This Ferrari 360 Spider is an exciting and exotic mid-engined supercar, presented in very good order. It is powered by the 3.6-litre F131 V8 engine producing 395bhp, and driven through the rear wheels via a six-speed open-gate manual transmission. The odometer shows 36,000 miles from new.
This UK-market Spider left the factory finished in silver coachwork with an interior trimmed in dark blue leather, along with the optional ‘Daytona’ seat stripes in light grey. It was also specified with factory-fit Scuderia wing shields. First registered in September 2001, it was acquired by the vendor in September 2019.
The bodywork and paint are reported to be in generally excellent condition, though there are a few blemishes noted by the vendor. There is a scuff on the rear decklid behind the windbreaker, though this is masked when the fabric roof is up. Small stone chips are also present around the front end, wing mirrors, and in a few places along the flanks, which are clearly visible in the photo gallery. The vendor reports that the car is now protected by a ceramic coating. It sits on the original five-spoke alloy wheels, accented by red painted brake callipers.
Inside, the dark blue leather presents in superb order, in line with the low mileage. There is modest wear on the outer seat bolsters, but no major damage, and the rest of the upholstery is in very good condition. The switchgear is free of the common sticky residue often found on Ferraris of this era, and all of the functions work as they should. The vendor reports no electrical issues or warning lights on the dashboard.
Its last scheduled maintenance was in September 2020, carried out by Ferrari specialist Stradale Italia in Staffordshire, which comprised a standard engine oil and filter service. The last major cambelt replacement service was carried out in 2019.
The most recent MOT test was on 11 September 2020 at 35,265 miles, when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. The car failed a test in 2008 due to a non-functioning horn, but otherwise has always passed its inspection at the first attempt. The wheels are shod in a set of Bridgestone Potenza tyres.
This Ferrari 360 Spider is a desirable drop-top supercar, which is presented in a handsome factory specification, and remains in impressive condition for a car that will soon celebrate its 20th birthday. Representing a significant generational step up over the F355, the 360 is a superb contemporary driver’s car, and this example’s open-gate manual gearbox makes it all the more involving. A wonderful modern classic, which would be a fine addition to any collection.
