2001 BMW (E39) M5

KEY FACTS

  • A highly specified and eye-catching example of an iconic super saloon, with relatively low mileage.
  • Under the bonnet sits a 4.9-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing 394bhp and 369lb/ft of torque which is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • The car is in a highly original condition and has been with its current owner for the last 14 years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This M5 boasts a high specification, including a two-tone Nappa leather interior in striking black and Le Mans Blue to complement the exterior, widescreen BMW navigation with TV and 6CD autochanger, and integrated Motorola mobile phone.
  • The car is as per factory specifications, apart from an AP Racing front brake upgrade. It now has six-piston front callipers fitted; however the original brakes have been retained and are available to come with the car.
  • The car is accompanied by the full owner’s book pack, service book and various MOTs and receipts.

Factory specification

  • Le Mans Blue and Black Nappa Point leather
  • Electrically adjustable steering column
  • Electrically adjustable and heated front seats with three-position memory
  • Front and rear park assist
  • Widescreen BMW navigation with TV and 6CD autochanger
  • Windscreen with green shade band
  • Electric glass sunroof
  • Integrated Motorola mobile phone

CONDITION

  • The owner states that a small parking dent has been repaired, and that this is the only known bodywork damage.
  • Overall, the Le Mans Blue metallic paintwork is in fair condition for its age. There is a small blemish under the nearside headlight, a scuff on the offside front wing which has been touched in, some grazing to the lower edge of the front bumper, and several minor stone chips and blemishes around the car.
  • Inside, the original interior shows some light signs of use commensurate with the age and mileage of the vehicle, including slight creasing to the leather, and some wear to the driver’s upright bolster, gear knob, steering wheel and seat backs.
  • The only known fault is that there are some dead pixels on the digital display underneath the instrument dials.
  • The most recent MOT test was in June 2021 at 76,461 miles, when the car passed first time with three advisories stating that the differential had an oil leak, there was corrosion to the offside rear brake pipe, and lower sill covers were fitted.
