2001 AUDI (B5) RS4 AVANT

 This Audi RS4 is an excellent example of the high-performance estate that took the world by storm upon its release. Under the bonnet is the 2.7-litre bi-turbo V6 engine - which produces 375bhp and is transferred to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox and Audi’s Quattro system. The odometer shows 183,550km.

First registered in April 2001, this vehicle has been with the current owner for the past year, who has ensured it has been maintained to an excellent mechanical standard and treated to a thorough service. It was specified from the factory in Brilliant Black with a Silver leather interior.

The exterior of the vehicle presents in excellent overall condition with the black paintwork showing off the Audi's understated good looks. The owner reports that the passenger-side rear door received a scrape in 2006 in a minor car park incident and was repaired at the time. A low driveway caused some marking on the underside of the front bumper which has also been repaired. Commensurate with the age of the vehicle, there is some stone chipping on the bonnet, roof and side mirrors, a scratch on the driver's door handle, and a minor dent in the passenger door.

Inside, the vehicle is in very good order, with the driver enjoying an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob. The Silver leather is complemented by suede headlining, with extra options including the tilt/slide sunroof, VDO Daytona navigation system, Audi Symphony radio and CD player, cruise control, and rear parking sensors. The owner reports there to be minor leather wear to the driver's seat bolster, small scratches in the leather of the passenger seat, and a minor stain on the rear seat. All switches and instruments work as they should, with just the sunroof sometimes requiring a second attempt to tilt.

The last scheduled maintenance was performed in November 2020 at specialist German Technik when the odometer read 182,526kms. A new timing belt, accessory drive belt, water pump, and rollers were fitted. A logbook service was performed with new engine oil and filter fitted, new spark plugs, coolant and thermostat, fuel filter, cabin filter, and a full vehicle check.

In addition, new OEM front brake discs were fitted at the time of the service, as was a new washer hose, and a full ECU check was carried out revealing no current or stored fault codes. Prior to this, logbook servicing was carried out in April 2019 and October 2018 when a new battery was fitted. The original stamped service book shows records from new and is supplied with the vehicle. The most recent inspection carried out on the vehicle was performed on 24 June 2020, with no advisories or warnings being issued.

During the current owner's time with the vehicle, they have had a full paint correction carried out with ceramic coating to follow, underbody decontamination with a protective coating applied, and paint protection film laid over the B and C pillar exterior trim pieces. Included in the sale are the original service book, invoices for work carried out from new until 2005, and detailed logbooks from 2006 until 2020.

This Audi RS4 Avant is an understated modern classic that is in excellent order for its age with an impressive maintenance history. It offers a rare mix of practicality and high-performance driving characteristics, which makes it equally well suited as an exciting daily driver or long-distance tourer.
