2001 AUDI (B5) RS4 AVANT

This 2001 Audi (B5) RS4 Avant is an unmodified example of the coveted performance estate, in a rare factory colour. Under the bonnet sits the 375bhp 2.7-litre twin-turbocharged V6, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with Quattro all-wheel drive. The odometer currently indicates 97,861 miles from new.

First registered in March 2001, this RS4 has been with its current keeper for one year, and is understood to have had just three previous keepers.

The bodywork of this RS4 is all in good shape, and the vendor notes that most of the Goodwood Green paintwork has recently been resprayed. While these cars often attract the attention of the tuner community with remaps and more, this car remains completely original, even down to the exhaust system. All of the body trims appear to be in very good order, and it rides on the correct 18-inch wheels, which look pristine.

Inside, the black Recaro seats present well for their age, now featuring a handsome patina and age-related creasing on the driver’s seat in particular, and typical wear elsewhere. A few scratches and scuffs can be seen in the door cards, along with marks to the dashboard and centre console plastics. This RS4 was equipped with a Motorola telephone, and all of the factory electrics are believed to work as they should.

The last scheduled maintenance was in September 2020 at 96,992 miles, where technicians at Fairwater Garage in Taunton carried out an oil change and inspection service. Prior to this, routine maintenance was undertaken in August 2019 and October 2015, the latter at 93,043 miles, where the cambelt was also replaced. The vendor states that there is a gap in the service history from 2004 to 2015, but there are MOTs online showing the low mileage during this period.

The most recent MOT test was on 23 September 2020 at 96,690 miles, which resulted in a pass with an advisory to monitor a worn nearside rear tyre with a nail puncture, though this has since been replaced. Accompanying the vehicle are the original handbooks and three keys.

This Audi RS4 Avant is a well-preserved example of a performance hero, which is finished in a rare factory colour and comes with solid recent maintenance history. Presented in very good order for its age, it would make an entertaining weekend toy or even an exciting modern classic daily driver.
