2001 ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH

This 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish is a refined, hand-built grand tourer, presented in an attractive and lesser-seen colour combination and with low mileage from new. On opening the bonnet, you are met by the naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12, which sends 460bhp to the rear wheels via a six-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer displays just 10,866km (6,752 miles), which is borne out by the car’s service history.

A particularly early production example of the V12 Vanquish, this left-hand drive car spent much of its life in Lebanon prior to being imported into the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in March 2021.

Today, the bodywork remains in great shape, with no evidence of any accident damage or corrosion. The black paintwork adds an extra touch of timeless refinement, and is described by the seller as being in good overall condition, with a few blemishes including fine scratches around the car, a smattering of stone chips on the nose and a scrape on the lower front bumper. Elsewhere, the exterior trim presents well, and the light lenses are clear and free of damage. This Vanquish rides on its original set of 19-inch, 12-spoke forged alloy wheels, which feature a few minor marks and chips, as well as a small kerb scratch on the edge of the front driver’s-side wheel.

Moving inside, the cabin is clad in handsome Forest Green leather with matching carpets, which helps to set it apart from the more commonly-specified black or grey interiors. Overall, the upholstery is in very good order, with some general creasing and wear on the seats’ bolster, but no damage to speak of. The interior trim is similarly smart, and while there are some scuffs on the bottom of the driver’s door card and blemishes on the passenger’s aluminium grab handle, these are minor. All of the switchgear works as it should; however, there is a warning light showing on the dashboard which indicates a fault with the catalytic converter.

This handsome British supercar’s most recent routine maintenance was a manufacturer recall, which was carried out in November 2017 at 10,436km by Aston Martin Service Centre, Lebanon. Prior to this, regular services were carried out to keep the car in good running order. Accompanying the car is its full tool kit and a print-out detailing its service history.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 5 January 2021 at 10,860km, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are still shod in their original, factory-fitted Yokohama AVS tyres, which are in good shape but would benefit from replacement due to their age.

This 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish is a smart example of the timeless V12 grand tourer, which has been routinely serviced and is offered for sale with very low mileage. While its next owner may choose to address some minor cosmetic flaws and replace the tyres prior to any spirited driving, this car is described by the seller as running and driving like new, and will make a stylish daily driver or high-performance weekend cruiser.
